On Saturday, October 31, Prep Baseball Report Missouri/Kansas held the MO-KAN Fall Review at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. 

Fourty-one players in the 2019 to 2016 classes from both states took part in the event.  Profiles have been updated with times, velocities, profile pitchers and videos.

Infielders

Ethan Baltz, SS/2B, Lee’s Summit West, 2016
Baltz is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2016 class. Baltz used the whole field during batting practice, starting from a tall stance, uses minimal load, controlled leg kick, balanced swing, 83 mph exit velo, ran a 7.32 60, and a 4.57 home to first. On the infield, 81 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, moves with athletic footwork to the ball, quick exchange, plays through the ball.

Brayden Becker, 3B, Prairie Hills (KS), 2018
Becker is a 5-foot-7 160-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2018 class.  Becker ran a 7.33 60 and a 4.59 home to first.  At the plate, athletic stance, no load, solid consistent contact to pull side, slightly uphill bat path.  On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, fields the ball in athletic position, clean exchange, over the top release,

Braxton Bragg, 3B, Liberty (MO), 2019
Bragg is a 6-foot 150-pound right-handed third baseman in Missouri’s 2019 class.  Lean and projectable build, hits with strong lower half, aggressive, quick bat speed, level to extension, gap-to-gap approach, 75 mph exit velo.  4.90 home to first, 8.02 60.  On the infield, fields the ball in athletic position, glove in front, quick exchange, fluid footwork, high three quarters release, 72 mph positional velo, momentum through the catch.

Jordan Carlson, 1B, Liberty (MO), 2019
Carlson is a 5-foot-8 140-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2019 class.  At the plate, starts in a balanced stance, loads in lower half, minimal hand load, level swing path, mostly pull side during batting practice, smooth rhythm, 73 mph exit velo. Ran a 7.22 60 and got down the line in 4.16-seconds.  On the infield, 67 mph positional velo, high three-quarters release, quick footwork, fields with glove in front, soft hands. 

Blake Conner, 3B, Platte County (MO), 2017
Conner is a 6-foot-3 160-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class.  Long limbed and slender build, starts with open stance at plate, short stride, level path, pull side approach, 77 mph exit velo. During defensive evaluations, 71 mph postitional velo, loose arm action, high three-quarters release, fluid footwork connected with hands, quick exchange and release. 

Connor Degginger, 3B, Park Hill (MO), 2016
Degginger is a 6-foot-1 200-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2016 class.  He ran a 7.85 60 and got down the line in 4.84-seconds.  At the plate, gap-to-gap approach with pop to opposite gap, solid consistent line drives, quick bat speed, aggressive, 88 mph exit velo.  On the infield, high-three-quarters release, fluid footwork, soft hands, made all plays cleanly. 

Dylan Dirks, 1B, Shawnee Mission Northwest (KS), 2016
Dirks is a 6-foot-2 180-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas’ 2016 class.  Dirks ran a 7.37 60 and a 4.65 home-to-first.  During batting practice, starts in balanced position, controlled leg lift separating from hands,  strides inline, gap-to-gap approach with mostly line drives to pull side, 81 mph exit velo.  On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, short high-three quarters release, loose arm action, fluid footwork, clean glove-to-hand exchange, quick release.

Kade Franks, C, Jefferson City (MO), 2017
Franks is a 5-foot-10 170-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class.  Franks starts in an athletic position at the plate, loads into back leg, finishes in wide base with leverage.  Level path, quick bat speed, used whole field during batting practice, showing power to pull side, 85 mph exit velo and 7.70 60.  On the infield, 79 mph positional velo, short over-the-top release, quick footwork, clean exchange and quick release, momentum towards target to throw. 

Daulton Freeman, SS/2B, Winnetonka (MO), 2017
Freeman is a 6-foot-1 155-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2017 class.  Freeman ran a 7.41 60 and had an exit velo of 81 mph.  At the plate, leg lift with short stride to start swing, quick bat speed, gap-to-gap approach, balanced finish.  On the infield, over-the-top release, long arm circle, fluid footwork, quick hand-to-glove transfer, 76 mph positional velo, made all plays cleanly. 

Crichton Hill, 1B, Grain Valley (MO), 2017
Hill is a 6-foot-1 155-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  At the plate, Hill starts in balanced stance, early stride with front foot, no wasted movement in load, lands in line, used the middle of the field during batting practice, repeats swing, 80 mph exit velo, ran a 7.69 60 and got down the line in 4.78-seconds. On the infield, 68 mph positional velo, fluid footwork working behind ball to field in athletic postion, over the top release, clean exchange.

Sammy Hogsett, SS/3B, Lawrence (KS), 2017
Hogsett is a 5-foot-8 140-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2017 class.  Hogsett ran a 7.51 60 and 4.57 home-to-first.  At the plate, Hogsett has a simple and repeatable swing, smooth rhythm, balanced set up, early stride separating from hands, line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice, 76 mph exit velo.  During defensive evaluations, over-the-top release, clean exchange, soft hands, athletic footwork, 68 mph positional velo. 

Brady Holder, SS/2B, Kearney (MO), 2017
Holder is a 6-foot 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2017 class.  Holder ran a 7.83 60 and a 4.85 home-to-first.  Starts in a balanced position at the plate, minimal load, fluid rhythm, gap-to-gap approach, consistent line drives to middle of field during batting practice, 76 mph exit velo.   On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, works around ball to field in athletic position with glove in front, plays through ball, quick exchange and release.

Palmer Hutchison, SS/3B, Hays (KS), 2019
Hutchison is a 6-foot 155-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class.  Hutchison ran a 7.78 60 and 4.61 home-to-first.  At the plate, has a middle approach, mostly line drives to pull side, no wasted movement in load, quick hands, level path to extension, 76 mph exit velo.  Defensively, 71 mph positional velo, short over the top release, athletic footwork working with hands, quick exchange and release, athletic actions. 

Braxton Johannsen, 1B, Maize South (KS), 2016
Johannsen is a 5-foot-10 175-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas’ 2016 class. Johannsen had a good round of batting practice, hitting consistent line drives gap-to-gap, athletic stance, loose hands, level bat path to extension.  77 mph exit velo, 8.32 60-yard dash time, 4.75 home-to-first. At first base, 67 mph positional velo, short over-the-top release, soft hands, clean exchanges, fluid footwork.

Jared Lafal, 1B, Blue Springs (MO), 2016
Lafal is a 5-foot-10 180-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2016 class. Strong build. Lafal ran a 7.63 60 and got down the line in 4.76-seconds.  He posted an 82 mph exit velo.  At the plate, starts mostly loaded in back leg, minimal movement to load, aggressive quick hands, hits in leverage in legs, creates power to pull side, mostly line drives to pull side in batting practice. At first base, 76 mph positional velo, aggressive to the ball, high three quarters release, clean exchange, shows range. 

Cole Larsen, SS, Concordia (KS), 2017
Larsen is a 5-foot-11 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2017 class.  Larsen ran a 7.60 60 and a 4.63 home-to-first.  At the plate, starts slightly open, uses leg kick, aggressive swing, level to extension, middle to pull line drives in batting practice, 79 mph exit velo.  On the infield, 80 mph positional velo, short over the top release with quick exchange and release, athletic footwork, momentum towards target. 

Nicholas Lasiter, 2B, Blue Valley North (KS), 2017
Lasiter is a 5-foot-11 160-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Kansas’ 2016 class.  Lasiter ran a 7.96 60 and 4.77 home-to-first.  At the plate, has a repeatable swing, no wasted movements in load, level path, body under control, middle approach, 78 mph exit velo.  During defensive evaluations, high three quarters release, quick exchange and release, fields ball in athletic position, fluid footwork.

Hayden Ludwig, SS/2B, Blue Springs South (MO), 2016
Ludwig is a 6-foot-1 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2016 class.  Ludwig ran a 7.25 60 and a 4.51 home-to-first. At the plate, Ludwig starts in slightly closed position, gap-to-gap approach with smooth load, quick hands, level path, stays on ball through contact.  On the infield, athletic actions, 75 mph positional velo, quick feet, clean exchange and release, playing through the catch, fields ball in athletic position, over the top release.

Tre-Von Phillips, 3B/SS, Northeast Magnet (KS), 2016
Phillips is a 5-foot-11 205-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2016 class.  Phillips ran a 7.77 60 and gets down the line in 4.84-seconds.  At the plate, 84 mph exit velo, open stance, short stride with load in lower half, quick and flat swing through the zone, line drives to middle pull side.  On the infield, 71 mph positional velo, over-the-top release, momentum towards target, fluid footwork, soft hands, clean exchange.  Strong frame. 

Zach Pitzl, 2B, Rockhurst (MO), 2018
Pitzl is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  Pitzl run a 7.33 60 and a 4.72 home-to-first.  At the plate, starts in wide stance, minimal smooth load in back leg, body stays under control, level path, pull side line drives, 82 mph exit velo.  On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, over the top release, quick exchange and release, fluid footwork, plays through the ball.

Khalil Robinson, INF, Blue Valley Northwest, 2018
Robinson is a 5-foot-10 180-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class.  Robinson ran a 7.77 60 and a 4.77 home-to-first.  During batting practice, Robinson works inside the ball with his hands, middle to oppo approach, smooth rhythm, short stride with little movement in load, 80 mph exit velo.  At first base, over the top release, 69 mph positional velo, moves to ball aggressively, fields ball with glove in front, clean exchange and release. 

Ty Simpson, 1B/3B, Raymore-Peculiar (MO), 2017
Simpson is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class.  Simpson ran a 7.64 60 and a 4.31 home-to-first. At the plate, smooth load from athletic stance, short stride, quick hands through hitting zone, gap-to-gap approach, 78 mph exit velo.  On the infield, 68 mph positional velo, high three-quarters arm slot, quick footwork, aggressive to ball, made all plays cleanly, fluid hand to glove exchange. 

Forrest Wilson, 2B, Hickman (MO), 2017
Wilson is a 5-foot-10 175-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class.  Wilson ran a 7.55 60 and got down the line in 4.77-seconds.  At the plate, Wilson squared up the ball consistently up the middle and to the pull side, loads into back leg, gets slightly uphill in bat path, quick bat speed, starts with open stance, finishes in balanced position, 88 mph exit velocity. On the infield, 73 mph positional velo, over the top release, quick footwork aggressive to ball, athletic actions, quick transfer and release with momentum though the ball.  

Brian Wircenske, SS/3B, Olathe South (KS)2016
Wircenske is a 6-foot-1 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2016 class.  Wircenske ran a 7.59 60 and gets down the line in 4.90-seconds.  During batting practice, starts in open stance, early stride, no hand load, loose and quick hands, middle to pull approach.  On the infield, high three quarters release, 79 mph positional velo, short and quick release, hand and feet work together, momentum towards target to throw.
