Missouri Underclass Games: Corner Infield Analysis

Prep Baseball Report - Missouri held the Missouri Underclass Games at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg on June 12. Over seventy players attended in the 2020-2021 class.
Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard. Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos. Today will take a closer look at the outfielders from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.
Here is a break down of the corner infielders from the Missouri Underclass Games.
Corner Infielders
Joshua Alexander 1B / RHP / Eureka, MO / 2020Alexander is an athletically built 6-foot-2 187-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.14 60 and a 4.58 home-to-first. He has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with wide base, small leg lift with load to back side, in line stride, level path though the zone, uses the middle of the field, short to contact, hands work inside the ball. On the infield, athletic actions, clean exchange, quick release, accurate throws, smooth footwork, soft hands, stays under control, 68 mph positional velocity. |
Jack Anderson 3B / 1B / Oakville, MO / 2021Anderson is a 6-foot-4 210-pound left-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.77 60 and a 5.03 home to first. He has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, works into back side to load with some hand movement, slightly closed stride, works mostly opposite way to middle of the field, hands are quick and loose generating quick bat speed. On the infield, 74 mph positional velocity, over the top release, smooth actions, stays under control, fluid footwork on time with exchange, creates momentum through the catch, mostly accurate throws. |
Cylis Cox LHP / 1B / Staunton, IL / 2021Cox is a strong 6-foot 195-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Illinois' 2021 class. He ran a 7.59 60 and a 4.75 home to first. He has an 85 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly open, small leg lift with some hand load, level path through the zone, loose hands, one handed finish, middle of the field line drives during batting practice, flashing pull side power. On the infield, 83 mph positional velocity, three quarters arms lot, quick to the ball with footwork, athletic actions, mostly accurate throws. |
Matthew Haley SS / RHP / Rockwood Summit , MO / 2021Haley is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.44 60 and a 4.83 home to first. He has an 85 mph exit velocity. At the plate, athletic set up, toe tap to load, minimal hand movement, loose bat whip, shows range in swing path, feel for the barrel, hands work inside the ball, gap to gap approach. On the infield, 75 mph positional velocity, short over the top arm slot, quick catch and throw, fluid footwork with clean exchange, stays under control with athletic actions, projection in build and actions. |
Michael Infranca LHP / 1B / Blue Springs , MO / 2021Infranca is a sturdy 5-foot-9 165-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.80 60 and a 4.83 home to first. He has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced and slightly crouched, leg kick, slightly closed stride, aggressive bat speed, occasional pull side power, consistent line drives gap to gap during batting practice. On the infield, 76 mph positional velocity, quick catch and throw, feet create directional momentum during transfer, mostly accurate throws, fluid and controlled, soft hands. |
Tanner Lukitsch 3B / SS / Francis Howell North, MO / 2020Lukitsch is a 6-foot 180-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.34 60 and a 4.65 home to first. He has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall and open stance, toe tap, in line stride, some hand load, slight lift to bat path, works inside of the ball, middle of the field approach. On the infield, 74 mph positional velocity, fields the ball in front of feet in athletic position, clean transfer with momentum from feet, short high three quarters release, fluid actions, mostly accurate throws, strong build with more room for physical development. |
Brady Rhoden LHP / 1B / Lees Summit West , MO / 2021Rhoden is a well built 6-foot-2 190-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.75 60 and a 4.83 home to first. He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with wide base, slight pre-pitch rhythm in hands, controlled leg lift, in line stride, accelerated hands, level path, gap to gap approach. On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, feet create momentum during transfer, clean exchange, soft hands. 75 mph positional velocity. |
