Quick Hitters: Arms from the TPA Open ID

Prep Baseball Report

On Sunday November 14th, PBR was on hand at Campbell's Jim Perry Stadium to help The Performance Academy (TPA) organize and run their PBR Fall ID.  The purpose of the ID is to allow TPA coaches and staff identify potential players for their program.  All players in attendance went through a modified pro-style workout with PBR Scouts collecting stats to update each player's PBR Profile.

The day began with pitchers and catchers.  The catcher went through a defensive workout, throwing their Pop Times, followed by pitchers throwing bullpens.  PBR Scouts were around each bullpen at Campbell as two pitchers threw in each bullpen at a time.  Velocities were recorded and scouts took notes on players.   Following the pitchers, position players went through an offensive rotation that included a quick round of BP on the field, multiple cage rotations, plus a laser timed 60.  Finally, the infielders and outfielders were able to workout from their position with arm velocities recorded as scouts noted each players performance.
