Inside the Rankings: Top 10 Class of 2022 RHP

With our latest rankings release for the 2022 class we decided to dive in deeper with a breakdown of the top 10 in each position. Today we start with right-handed pitchers. 

Disclaimer: Players listed below are ranked in order of their PRIMARY listed position on the website that they have chosen. A dual player that is also strong at their secondary position may carry more weight in their overall ranking.

Class of 2022 Rankings Release

TOP 10 RHP / CLASS OF 2022

Eliakim Stowe RHP / 1B / Millbrook Prep, NY / 2022


Quick Hit: 
Athletic, power pitcher's build at 6-foot-3 210 pounds who can run it up to to 86-88 MPH.

First Glimpse: Campus Series - St. Rose (July 2019). Worked 83-86 with a free & easy arm.

Breakout Performance: 2019 Future Games.

The Future: The Maryland commit had two strong outings in Georgia at Future Games both times touching 87-88 MPH. Tremendous "right now" talent with yet a high ceiling.

Steven Mazza RHP / 3B / Archbishop Molloy, NY / 2022


Quick Hit: 
Filled out frame at 6-foot-0 200 pounds with a strong lower half. Starter profile with command of secondary stuff.

First Glimpse: Preseason - Long Island (February 2018). Was up to 77 MPH as one of the younger players in attendance. 

Breakout Performance: Preseason - Long Island (February 2019)

The Future: The uncommitted righty will look to have a monster summer with quite a following of coaches. Brings to the table a mature approach on the mound with an array of offerings.

Zachary Peters RHP / SS / Trinity Pawling , NY / 2022


Quick Hit: 
Peters checks in as a high-waisted 6-foot-2 175 pounder that creates plenty of downward tilt. 

First Glimpse: Spring 2019 via PBR-New England.

Breakout Performance: 2019 Future Games.

The Future: The uncommitted CT. resident who attends school in NY features a mid 80's FB with a CB he can land for strikes. High upside; big summer ahead.

Wyatt Parliament RHP / SS / LaFargeville , NY / 2022


Quick Hit: 
High waisted 6-foot-0 180 pounder from north-central NY who works low-to-mid 80's (June 2019). Older brother Owen a Wofford commit.

First Glimpse: Preseason-West (February 2018). Repeatable delivery with a long and loose arm slot. Low 70's with the FB.

Breakout Performance: Rising Stars/Jr. NYS Games (June 2018)

The Future: The Rutgers commit had a strong effort last summer at the 2019 NYS Games and not much longer after was committed. Looking forward to seeing his progress once baseball is back in the mix again.

Mario Pesca RHP / Cardinal Spellman , NY / 2022


Quick Hit:
Big, strong frame at 6-foot-6 220 pounds. Worked low 80's, touching 84 MPH last summer in our first look.

First Glimpse: Campus Series - St. John's (July 2019). Impressed with his physicality on an extremely hot day on the turf in NYC.  

Breakout Performance: Campus Series - St. John's (July 2019).

The Future: The St. John's commit has a chance to really climb the ladder in the state rankings and make a push on the national scene.

Daniel Cohen RHP / SS / South Glens Falls , NY / 2022


Quick Hit: 
Lean athletic build with projection at 6-foot-2 160 pounds. Impressive two-way abilities as well as a middle infielder.

First Glimpse: Preseason - East (February 2018). Free and easy efforts at the plate. Was 75 MPH on the bump.

Breakout Performance: 2019 NYS Games.

The Future: Recent efforts at the Preseason - Capitol Region has the PBR-NY staff excited to see him at the 2020 NYS Games. Was up to 85 MPH on the bump, swung it well and showed strong actions up the middle.

Jake Moss RHP / 3B / Manhasset , NY / 2022


Quick Hit:
Durable, athletic build at 6-foot-0 195 pounds. Impressive 4 pitch repertoire working up to 84 MPH with his FB while mixing a CB, CH and SL.

First Glimpse: Last Chance Preview - ENY (October 2019). Opened a lot of eyes with a lights out bullpen near the end of the fall season.

Breakout Performance: Last Chance Preview - ENY (October 2019).

The Future: The uncommitted Long Island resident will be a sought after arm at the 2020 NYS Games, not many players underclass or upperclass can toe the rubber with that type of arsenal.

Andrew Dongelewic RHP / 2B / Shaker , NY / 2022


Quick Hit: 
Wiry, athletic 5-foot-11 160 pounder with some high end skills as a position player along with a solid projection on the mound. Easy delivery; was up to 85 MPH in February.

First Glimpse: Preseason - East (February 2019).

Breakout Performance: 2019 NY Games.

The Future: The uncommitted dual prospect is poised to have a big summer. Excited to have him also at the 2020 NY Games. 

Christian Antonopoulos RHP / OF / Manhasset , NY / 2022


Quick Hit: 
Proportional 5-foot-10 175 pounds with a high arm slot. FB works 82-85 MPH with some arm side run.

First Glimpse: Preseason - Long Island (February 2020). Showed repeatable mechanics with all signs pointing to arm that will be able to carve up the opposition over the long term.

Breakout Performance: Preseason - Long Island (February 2020).

The Future: Another quality 2022 arm that will be on display at the 2020 NY Games this summer. The Long Island resident is ready to impress.

Edward Hall RHP / 1B / McQuaid Jesuit, NY / 2022


Quick Hit:
Long and lean 6-foot-3 180 pounds; Works 83-85 with downward action and feel to a fading change up.

First Glimpse: Diamond Pro Workout (July 2019)

Breakout Performance: Preseason - West (February 2020)

The Future: The uncommitted RHP offers up a ton of projection on the bump. Delivery repeats; moderate arm swing with some late life through the zone. High ceiling for the Rochester area resident.
