As we begin our 2024 event schedule, we want to highlight some of the standout players from last weeks events. These are players, that are uncomitted, who caught the attention of Prep Baseball staff.

Aiden Chimicles C / 3B / Xavier, NY / 2027Will be an interesting follow. At 6'0" and 205 lbs., the freshman is built to have an impact. He showed advanced skills and is ready to step on the high school stage. Compact swing; stays on plane and delivered some loud conatct (Exit Velo- 87mph). Will throw you out on the bases (C Velo- 72mph).

Frank Cundari C / OF / Xavier, NY / 2025

Already on the scouts radar, the athletic catcher showed he is poised for a breakout season. He was top of the leaderboard in every metric. Caught the barrel during batting practice, delivering a powerful 92mph Exit Velocity. Displayed good arm strength with a 73mph cathers velocity. |
Mason Davey RHP / OF / Rush-Henrietta, NY / 2025
Rankings StateRank: 113 / POS: 37
Really shinned on the mound. Strong, durable build. Drop and drive delivery. A lot of movement on his pitches. Pounded the zone w/ a heavy FB up to 84mph w/ arm side run. Through CB backdoor for strikes and had nasty sweeping slider. 2-way potentail with the bat. Had a explosive BP round with a 90mph exit velocity.

Matthew Turner OF / 1B / Rush Henrietta, NY / 2026Good gap-to-gap approach at the plate. Hit the barrel often with an exit velocity of 89mph. Took good routes to ball and the lefty thrower showed off a strong arm (OF velo- 82mph).

Ryan DeJoy RHP / SS / McQuaid Jesuit, NY / 2026
Rankings StateRank: 35 / POS: 14
Was a electric on the hill. Ton of upside with his 6'3" frame. Long loose limbs and fast arm. Ran his FB up to 85mph. Good 3-pitch mix, displaying a tight SL and a sinking CH.

Luke VanMarter RHP / OF / Jamesville Dewitt , NY / 2025
Rankings StateRank: 85 / POS: 24
2-way prospect at the next level. All tools on display during the event. Found the barrel all during batting pracice. Powerfull contact with an exit velocity of 99mph. Aggresive in the OF; played through the ball showing off an 87mph arm. Also, got on the mound with an intimidating presence. Showed a solid 3-pitch mix with a FB up to 84mph.

Ross Yoshida RHP / 3B / Nichols School, NY / 2025
Rankings StateRank: 30 / POS: 11
One of the best arms we have seen this winter. Advanced repertoire of pitches; starter potentail at the next level. Clean mechanics and a strong lower half. Can get you out in many ways. FB up to 89mph with good spin (2,300rpm). CB keeps hitter off balanced at 75mph and 2,400rpm spin rate. Also throws a hard SL (81mph) and a CH that dives. Will be a nice addition to any college pitching staff.

Bruce Mistler 1B / RHP / Oneonta, NY / 2025
Rankings StateRank: 247 / POS: 12
Protoype first-baseman build at 6'4". Stays behind the ball well and has juice in the bat (Exit Velo- 92mph). Showed a strong, acurate arm in the infield (IF velo-79mph). Upside on the mound as well with FB up to 79pmh.

John Swartz OF / RHP / Victor, NY / 2025One of the best overall performances of the day. Scored high on every metric taken; definite 2-way potential. Athletic OF (60 time- 7.14) with a very strong arm (OF Velo- 86mph). Consistent barrels during batting practice with a 88mph exit velocity. Also competited on the mound; pounded the zone with a 83mph FB.

Ryan Kristof 3B / 1B / Windsor, NY / 2025
Rankings StateRank: 95 / POS: 5
Protoype power hitting corner infielder with a strong arm (INF Velo- 82mph). Big presence in the box; 6'2", 210 lbs. build. Uses a wide stance, strong lower half, and a toe tap load to produce a strong swing through contact. Exit velocity up to 92mph. Middle of the lineup potential.

Nathan Brinza 1B / OF / Canandaigua Academy, NY / 2025
Rankings StateRank: 147 / POS: 4
Light tower power! He consumes the box and intimidates pitchers. A strong display during batting practice with an exit velocity of 97mph. Stays tall in his stance using all his might to stay behind the ball. Ran well (60 time- 7.2) and showed a good arm (INF Velo- 81mph).

Jack Smalley OF / SS / Shenendehowa, NY / 2026Really good athlete to follow in the sophmore class. The rangy OF plays aggresive to the ball and has a rocket for an arm (OF Velo- 88mph). Has a short compact swing and gets out of the box well (60 time- 6.85). Top of the order type of hitter.
