OK Fall Underclass Games Analysis: RHPs Analysis

PBR OK hosted the fourth annual OK Fall Underclass Prospect Games at beautiful Oral Roberts University. Nearly 75 invite-only players showcased their skill in front of the PBR OK staff and ORU staff. The talented event saw five sub 7.00 60s, 6 90+ exit velos, 6 infield velos of 80+, 5 outfield velos of 85+, 5 sub 2.00 second pop times, and 5 max fastballs at 85 mph. Today, we take an in-depth look at the twenty-seven left-handers from the event, below.

Garret Baker 1B / RHP / Mustang, OK / 2021

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound large and durable frame with strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled and deliberate delivery with a high leg kick before gliding down the mound and finishing slightly to the first base side. Arm action is fluid in the back with moderate length before getting short and coming through a ¾ slot. Fastball sits  78-80 with some arm-side run and some deception, nearly all strikes. Splitter shows cut and sink with occasional late and heavy darting action. In the game, Baker struck out all four batters he faced. 


Dagan Bellar RHP / 1B / Norman North, OK / 2022

A durable 6-foot-1, 205-pound frame with some strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from a deliberate delivery with a high leg kick before striding way down the mound finishing to the first base side. Arm action is long and controlled in the back before getting high and coming through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 73-75 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows near 12/6 shape with rolling action, some strikes. Bellar also showed a changeup in warmups. In the game, Bellar got weak contact out of all four hitters he faced in the game. 


Spencer Boles OF / C / Choctaw, OK / 2022

A 5-foot-10, 170-pound athletic and muscular fame with some strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works only from the stretch with a moderate leg kick before gliding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action has moderate length in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 74-76 mph, some strikes. Changeup sits 68-70 mph, flashing excellent fade. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with rolling action. 


Jack Bucholz RHP / OF / Norman North , OK / 2022

A lean 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out. On the mound, the right-hander works only from the stretch with an average tempo delivery and a moderate leg kick, slightly coiling at the top before striding down the mound before finishing towards the dish. Arm action is clean and fluid in the back with moderate length before coming through a high-¾ slot with some quickness out front. Fastball sits 78-80 mph flashing cut, nearly all strikes. Changeup shows some fade at 66-72 mph, mostly strikes. In the game, Bucholz punched out two of the four batters he faced. 


Parker Casselberry RHP / 3B / Jenks, OK / 2021

A proportional 6-foot, 175-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm and a high leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing to the first base side. Arm action is long and quick in the back, getting high early before coming through a near over the top slot. Fastball sits 76-79 mph, shows cut to the glove side and run to the arm side, some strikes. Slider shows some late depth with developing command at 68-73 mph. In the game, punched out two of the six batters he faced. 


Zade Cisneros RHP / OF / Clinton, OK / 2021

An athletic and lean 6-foot-3, 176-pound frame with wiry strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from an abbreviated wind up with average tempo and a high leg kick before driving down the mound and finishing slightly to the first base side. Arm action is long in the back reaching towards second base before a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke and coming through a high ¾ slot. Fastball sits 83-85 mph, touching 86, keeping its plane, some strikes. Curveball shows slurvy shape with some late depth at 71-73 mph. In the game, Cisneros punched out two of the 5 batters he faced. 


Chase Corbin OF / 3B / Silo, OK / 2021

A lean 5-foot-11, 158-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery a high leg kick before finishing to the dish. Arm action is long and controlled in the back before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball shows consistent arm-side run at 76-78 mph, mostly strikes. 


Braydyn Escarcega SS / RHP / Allen, OK / 2020

An athletic 6-foot, 175-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled and deliberate delivery with rhythm and a high, coiling, leg kick before striding to the dish and finishing to the first base side. Arm action has moderat length in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball sits 82-83 mph with consistent heavy cut, mostly strikes. Slider is still developing, spinning out at times at 65 mph. In the game, Escarcega punched out three of the five batters he faced. 


Brigham Evans RHP / 3B / Heritage Hall, OK / 2022

An advanced 6-foot-2, 187-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled delivery with some rhythm and a moderate leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is controlled in the back with moderate length before coming through a near over the top slot. Fastball sits 76-80 mph with some are side run, mostly strikes. Curveball shows near 12/6 shape with rolling action at 62-64 mph, some strikes. In the game, Brigham punched out four of the seven batters he faced, filling up the strike zone. 


Broderick Finlay SS / RHP / Norman North , OK / 2022

A lean and projectable 6-foot-1, 168-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before driving down the mound and finishing towards the dish. Arm action has moderate length in the back with some fluidity before coming through a high-¾ slot with some arm speed out front. Fastball sits 76-78 mph with some arm-side run, mostly strikes. Curveball shows 11/5 shape at 65-66 mph with excellent and consistent depth, mostly strikes. In the game, Finlay gave up no hard contact, punching out two of the four hitters he faced. 


Cole Girard SS / RHP / Piedmont , OK / 2023

A developing 5-foot-5, 130-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a high leg kick before finishing to the dish. Arm action is long an full in the back, making a massive circle before coming through a near over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 64-56 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball sits 57-58 mph with gradual depth and 11/5 shape. 


Jaxon Gless RHP / C / Blanchard , OK / 2022

An athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm and a high leg kick before driving down the mound with quality leg drive, finishing to the dish. Arm action has length in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot with arm speed. Fastball sits 83-84 mph touching 85 with consistent cut, mostly strikes. Slider shows late depth and 11/5 shape at 73-74 mph, some strikes. In the game, punched out two of the four batters he faced. 


Gunner Head OF / RHP / Shawnee, OK / 2022

A developing 5-foot-8, 120-pound frame with lots of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is short and quick in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball flashes some cut at 67-70 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows rolling 10/4 shape at 59-60 mph, some strikes.


Daxton Hembree 3B / RHP / Westville, OK / 2022

A lean 6-foot, 160-pound frame with some projection and room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a high leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is short and quick in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 74-78 mph, keeping its plane, mostly strikes. Curveball has short and rolling action 58-59 mph, mostly strikes. 


Bryce Henderson C / RHP / Sapulpa, OK / 2021

A 5-foot-5, 125-pound developing frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from a clean delivery with solid rhythm and a high up, down, and out leg kick before gliding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is long and fluid in the back before coming through a ¾-slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 65-67 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows rolling 10/4 shape, mostly strikes. 


Jackson Kennedy RHP / 3B / Casady, OK / 2021

A lean and projectable 6-foot-4, 170-pound frame. On the mound,the right-hander works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before driving down the mound and finishing to the first base side. Arm action is quick, clean, and fluid in the back with moderate length before coming through a high-¾ slot with loose arm speed. Fastball sits 81-84 mph with some arm-side run when down in the zone, mostly strikes. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with late depth at 71-73 mph, mostly strikes. In the game, Kennedy punched out the first six batters he faced and did not allow a hit.


Mikey Lunsford 3B / RHP / Carl Albert, OK / 2021

An advanced 6-foot-2, 200-pound fame with strength and broad shoulders. On the mound, the right-hander works from an up tempo delivery with some rhythm and a coiling leg kick before striding down the mound and spinning off slightly to the first base side. Arm action is long with a quick change of direction in the back before coming through a ¾ slot. Fastball ranges 75-80 mph with consistent and heavy arm-side run, mostly strikes. Slider shows 10/4 shapes with some late break and depth at 71-72 mph, mostly strikes. In the game, Lunsford punched out three of the five batters he faced.  


Colby Mann RHP / 3B / Moore, OK / 2023

A 5-foot-10, 174-pound proportional frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm and a moderate leg kick before gliding down the mound and finishing slightly to the first base side. Arm action long, fluid, and loose in the back before coming through a ¾ slot with advanced arm speed for his age. Fastball sits 80-83 mph with consistent arm-side run, nearly all strikes. Curveball is elite for his age with tight spin and consistent late depth at 72-73 mph and 11/5 shape, mostly strikes.


Alex Morgan 3B / RHP / Harrah, OK / 2022

A durable 5-foot-9, 195-pound frame. On the mound the right-hander works only from a back leg heavy and closed stretch with almost no leg lift before gliding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action has some length in the back coming to a slight pause at the bottom of the arm stroke before pulling through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 72-76 mph, nearly all strikes. Curveball shows 12/6 shape at 60-61 mph, mostly strikes. In the game, Morgan punched out three of the four batters he faced.   


Chance Noah 1B / RHP / Red Oak, OK / 2021

A proportional 6-foot, 172-pound frame with room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works only from the stretch with a moderate leg kick before dipping down into a submarine delivery or staying tall and finishing to the dish. Arm action is long, full, and loose on both deliveries. Fastball sits in the upper 70s from he higher slot and ranges 68-70 from the submarine slot with consistent run and fade when down and some rising action when up in the zone. Slider shows some East-to-West shape at 60-63 mph, mostly strikes. In the game, Noah got weak contact from all four batters he faced.  


Nicholas Noble 3B / RHP / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2022

A 5-foot-10, 150-pound proportional frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an up tempo delivery with a high coiling leg kick before striding down the mound with quality leg drive and finishing towards the dish. Fastball sits 72-74 with consistent and late arm side run, mostly strikes. Curveball has rolling action with 11/5 shape at 56-57 mph. Slider is advanced, shows 10/4 shape with some tight spin and late depth at 64-67 mph. Chageup shows some fade at 61-62 mph. In the game, Noble retired all four hitters he faced, striking out one.  


Diego Ramos SS / RHP / Vian, OK / 2023

A lean, long, and very projectable 6-foot-1, 150-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an up tempo delivery with rhythm and a moderate leg kick before taking a short stride down the mound and finishing towards the dish. Arm action is long, quick, clean, and fluid in the back before coming through a high-¾ arm slot with advanced arm speed for his age. Fastball sits 80-81 mph with arm-side run, mostly strikes. Changup shows some fade at 69-70 mph, mostly strikes. 


Tucker Resolute SS / RHP / Mount St. Mary, OK / 2021

A lean 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slightly up tempo delivery with a high leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing to the dish. Arm action is very quick in the back with moderate length before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 78-82 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with tight spin and some late depth at 67-68 mph, mostly strikes. In the game, Resolute retired all four hitters he faced.   


John(Keaton) Ruthardt RHP / OF / Deer Creek, OK / 2021

A long and projectable 6-foot-3, 165-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with an abbreviated wind up that he repeats well with rhythm. Uses a high leg kick and quality leg drive down the mound before finishing balanced. Arm action is long, full, and clean in the back before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball shows consistent downhill tilt at 82-84 mph touching 85 flashing cut, mostly strikes. Curveball shows rolling action with some late depth at 61-67 mph. In the game, Ruthard punched out three of the eight batters he faced. 


Daniel Satterlee C / RHP / Southmoore, OK / 2022

A long and projectable 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from a smooth and average tempo delivery that he repeats well, using a high leg kick and a long stride down the mound before finishing towards the dish. Arm action is long, loose, and clean in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot with advanced arm speed for his age. Fastball sits 80-83 with heavy and consistent arm-side run, mostly strikes. Changeup shows some fade at 76-77 mph. Has advanced feel for his breaking ball at 66-68 mph, mostly strikes. In the game, punched out three of the six hitters he faced.  


Kane Springer C / OF / Washington, OK / 2023

A lean and developing 5-foot-11, 145-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from works from an up tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is long and loose in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 66-68 mph with some cut, mostly strikes. Changeup shows occasional cut at 62-64 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with rolling action at 58-59 mph, mostly strikes. In the game, Springer punched out three of the four batters he faced. 


Kaden Wickersham RHP / OF / Southmoore , OK / 2021

A lean and projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from a deliberate delivery with a controlled moderate leg kick before driving down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is long, loose, fluid and quick in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot with arm speed. Fastball sits 82-85 mph with consistent run and sink, some strikes. Curveball is still developing, spinning out at 68-70 mph. In the game, Wickersham got consistent weak contact on the ground.
