OK Rankings Update: Class of 2021

The OK 2021 class has continued to develop and grow throughout the rankings and especially at the top with some of the most talented players continuing to develop into national standouts. In an odd year in recruiting, this class still boasts 110 players committed to play college baseball next year, with more outstanding talent that soon will be. Today, we take a look at the top 10 and top uncommitted players in this rendition of the rankings. 

Top 10

Jackson Jobe RHP / SS / Heritage Hall, OK / 2021

One of the fastest risers in the country, Jobe, a solid position player, has advanced on the mound at a jaw dropping rate. The right-hander is now sitting 92-95 touching 96 with his fastball and absolutely pounding the zone and flashing some arm-side run. His continues to show one of the best sliders in the country at 83-85 mph and spin rates of 3000, also thrown with elite command. The changeup has heavy sink, thrown with full arm speed at 84-84, also for consistent strikes. Look for Jobe's name to be called on day one of the draft this year if he continues on this path.


Gray Thomas RHP / Heritage Hall, OK / 2021

One of the most unique arms in the country with a high celing, Thomas stands 6-foot-3 with long limbs and developing strength throughout. The Texas Christian commit uses a controlled delivery before exploding late down the mound with a drop and drive lower half. His arm action is a low-3/4 slot coming from behind the right-handed batter. His fastball ranges 90-94, touching 95. His slider has sweeping shape with some late depth with 2700-2800 spin at 79-83. Thomas is also mixing a changeup to left-handers with run and sink at 84-86. With elite stuff and different look Thomas is an exceptionally uncomfortable at bat with will garner attention from scouts.  



Ian Daugherty C / OF / Kingfisher, OK / 2021

coming it at No. 3 on our list is Oklahoma State commit Ian Daugherty. Daugherty has established himself as one of the top high school defenders behind the dish in the country and proved it again at this year's super 60. Offensively, Daugherty has always shown feel for the barrel and hit for average, but he as started off this spring by showing added pop as well. Daugherty will a prospect to watch as the spring continues. 

 

Drew Blake LHP / Stillwater , OK / 2021

Left-handers with velo and feel for a breaking ball and velo will always be saught after and the Oklahoma State commit Drew Blake posses both. Sitting in the low 90s last summer with his fastball and showing a big breaking ball with depth and strikes when he was on, Blake was able to keep some of the most talented lineups in the country at bay when he was on. 

 

Carson Benge 3B / RHP / Yukon, OK / 2021

A true two-way prospect, Carson Benge has made a name as a polished left-handed hitter with some wiry pop and an advanced defender at third, but lately he has seen a tick up in velo on the mound. The right-handed pitcher take his athleticism and feel to the mound showing off high end strikes with both a fastball that sits 90-93 and a slurvy breaking ball at 73-75. At 6-foot-2, 175-pounds, Benge is an easy prospect to dream on. 

 

Brody Green 3B / SS / Owasso, OK / 2021

A long 6-foot-4, 175-pound frame the right-handed hitting third baseman continues to be one of the most projectable players in the class. The Texas Christian commit is a high end defender with a quick and accurate arm and plenty of arm strength. Offensively, Green shows a short and efficient swing even with his long limbs from the right-side in the box.

 

Payton Tolle LHP / 1B / Bethany, OK / 2021

One of the most physical players in the country at 6-foot-7, 230-pounds the Wichita State commit is another two-way prospect on our list. On the mound, the left-hander has been reported up to 92 mph in the early spring. Offensively, the left-handed hitter shows light tower power and developing barrel control.  


Brooks Fowler SS / RHP / Jenks, OK / 2021

The Oral Roberts commit has a lean 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame with athleticism and room too add more strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter shows bats speed with a pull side approach showing natural lift. On the mound, Brooks fills up the zone with a fastball at 88-90 and touches 91 paired with an advanced slider showing tight spin. 


Cayden Brumbaugh SS / 2B / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2021

A lean and quick twitch athlete with surprising strength, the Oklahoma State commit plays much bigger than his 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame. The right-handed hitter produces impressive pop with a short swing (95 mph exit in BP) and shows his athleticism running a 6.64 60 and showing accuracy across the diamond at 84 mph. Brumbaugh also posses an impressive baseball IQ. 


Morgan Lunceford RHP / 3B / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2021

The strong bodied 6-foot, 195-pound San Diego commit hits in the four hole for Santa Fe, but will likely spend more time on the mound at the next level. The right-hander shows a low 90s fastball with feel for three advanced pitches when he is on, including a sharp slider, and full arm speed changeup. 

 

Top 10 Uncommitted Players

Cade Stephenson SS / OF / Kingfisher, OK / 2021

Arguably the best overall athlete in the state at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Stephenson has received big 12 football offers, but is holding out to play baseball at the next level. The right-handed hitting outfielder runs a 6.57, is 90 from the outfield, and averaged a 91 exit velo in BP.

 

Zade Cisneros OF / RHP / Clinton, OK / 2021

A three sport standout, Cisneros is looking to play on both sides of the ball at the next level. On the mound, the right-hander features a fastball in the mid 80s. The right-handed hitter posses strength at the plate posting exit velos up to 92 at the plate. Cisneros also runs a 6.85 and is 91 from the outfield. 

Christian McClendon OF / RHP / Edmond Memorial , OK / 2021

McClendon has a broad shouldered and projectable 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with room to add more strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter shows pop with an exit velo of 93 and runs a 6.79 60. 

 

Dayton Wolfe C / 3B / Westmoore, OK / 2021

Wolfe has a durable and strong 6-foot, 200-pound frame. The football standout has a skillset that plays well behind the dish with a short and strong arm producing sub 2.0 pop times. The right-handed hitter shows bat speed and barrel strength. 

 

Wesley Olds 3B / RHP / McLoud, OK / 2021

Colby Lewis C / SS / Heritage Hall, OK / 2021

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound quick twitch athlete catches every day for Heritiage Hall HS, but is just as comfortable in the outfield, and maybe best suited for the middle infield with well above average feet and hands. Lewis is a constant threat on the bases as well and runs a 6.72 60. 

 

Jonah Mahen SS / RHP / Crossing Christian, OK / 2021

A quick twitch and strong armed athlete Mahen can play almost anywhere on the field. Mahen is a  HS shortstop with a chance to stick there at the next level as he shows big range and a strong and accurate arm at 87 across the infield. A 6.6 runner, Mahen could easy transition to the OF as well. Offensivley, the right-handed hitter was a standout at the future games, barreling elite arms. 

 

Emanuel Jeter OF / LHP / Tuttle, OK / 2021

A two-way athlete, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound Jeter shows solid measureables as a position player running a 7.12, throwing 87 from the outfield, and popping an 86 off the tee from the left side. On the mound, the left-hander ranges 80-83 with an advanced breaking ball at 70-71. 

 

Cameron Talburt OF / LHP / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2021

Talbert plays fast, aggressive, and much bigger than his 5-foot-9, 165-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter has a knack for finding barrels and plays to his 6.68 speed. In the outfield, Talburt gets good reads and shows an accurate arm.

 

Brody Rexroad C / 3B / Mustang, OK / 2021

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Rexroad posseses some of the biggest pop from the right-side in the entire class. The right-handed hitter showed a top exit velo in BP of 96 with an average exit velo of 89 mph. Defensively, Rexroad shows 2.00 showcase pop times with some arm strength.
