Top performer Report
Defensively, Kovatch profiles nicely at the corner OF position as he has quality arm strength (85 MPH) and natural, quick routes to the baseball.
Even after his exceptional round of BP, Kovatch seemed to impress even more on the mound. Greyson works quickly on the bump with violent movements into front foot strike that help him generate the high velocity in his frame. He possesses 4 pitches, where 3 of them are quality, developed pitches. The FB was 84-87 T88 MPH with very good life through the zone. The CB is sharp with slurve-ish shape that can be thrown whenever he likes for strikes and a swing & miss. Kovatch's CH (77-80 MPH) is certainly on its way to being a great pitch if he can generate some more depth on it. The horizontal movement is there (14 inches) but the induce vertial break is just a touch too high to be producing two plane movement. To wrap up the arsenal, Kovatch mixes in a SL with decent horizontal movement that just does not produce enough depth to be a strike out pitch just yet at the next level. If he can add some depth on the CH and the SL, Kovatch could be a legitimate two way threat and make a big splash in a college program.
