With the addition of 25 new faces, PBR Virginia/DC is proud to release the updated Class of 2021 rankings. These rankings consist of prospects we have been able to see across the Commonwealth/DC using our boots-to-the-ground approach to scouting in our never-ending effort to provide the most complete scouting coverage.

It is important to note that our PBR VA/DC Rankings are not just based on the current ability of a player, but also the projection that each prospect has. Projection plays a larger part in our younger class rankings (2021, 2022) as we not only base each player on what they are now, but what we think they can become as they develop down the road to their senior year. As we get closer to that senior season for each class, current ability begins to play a much larger factor (2020, 2019). Projection, though playing a large part for some players, starts to be less of a factor the closer we get to their career after high school.

Though there is plenty of movement around the top ten of our rankings, nothing has changed in our top two spots, where Jay Woolfolk and Jaron McNeil remain at our No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. After that we have much movement with two new faces in the top five and one new face into our top ten.

Top new face in our rankings goes to LHP Dean Kampschror of Justice (formerly JEB Stuart) HS. Kampschror is a projectable left-handed pitcher with a free arm action who shows a mid-80's fastball and more in the tank while pitching with light effort. Kampschror had a very big freshman campaign for Justice his freshmen year on the mound and made his commitment to Virginia early this summer.

Other Top new faces to the rankings include: Ethan Ott (Greenbrier Christian), James Wood (St. John's College), Preston Steele (Lebanon), Evan Smith (St. John's College), Kevin Gunn (Dinwiddie), Zachary Barco (Cosby), Tyler Butler (Floyd Kellam), Christian Hile (Woodgrove), Brett Allen (Benedictine), Drue Hackenberg (FUMA), and Jesus Del Valle (TC Williams).

Enough talk, lets take a look at the Top Ten.
