Each week, WIAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the PBR Wisconsin Player of the Week honors. On Wednesday, we awarded the second 'Players of the Week' awards of the year, representing Week 7, to OF/RHP Garrett Kay (Waterford, 2023; Illinois-Chicago commit), who went 10-for-12 on the week with a home run, four triples, a double, six RBIs and six runs scored. He also threw five innings on the mound, struck out five, allowed one unearned run and no hits, earning this week’s ‘Player of the Week' honors, as a result. RHP/INF Logan Baumgartner (Medford Area, 2023; Wisconsin-Stevens Point commit, basketball) earned ‘Pitcher of the Week’ honors after throwing six innings, striking out 15 and earning two wins on the mound. He also went 10-for-13 at the plate with three home runs, a double and 13 RBIs.

Inside of this Diamond Notes piece, we acknowledge the performances that fell short of that POTW honor, but are still deserving of some recognition here.
