Lozier improved in a couple different areas in a short period of time on Sunday, recording a new personal best 7.02 time in the 60-yard dash, and an exit speed from the left side that climbed up to 92.1 mph – which is up five ticks from the Fox Cities ID. Lozier makes authoritative contact for his size, listed at a wiry strong 5-foot-10, 145 pounds, but he added strength over the offseason and is generally an athletic prospect who plays the game at an uptempo pace.

Positional Profile: 2B/2B
Body: 5-9, 140-pounds. Lean, thin, moves well.
Hit: LHH. Narrow base, tall stance, quiet and controlled load, short stride to even. Short and uphill path to contact, elevates the baseball and worked middle-away. Easy, athletic swing and repeated throughout.
Power: 92.1 max exit velocity, averaged 83.6 mph. 303’ max distance.

Run: 7.02 runner in the 60.

The left-handed-hitting middle infielder made an aggressive attack to the baseball and shot the ball through the middle of the field repeatedly. On the dirt he traveled low to the ball and worked from right to left gathering momentum and maintaining hop adjustability throughout. He showed quality body control and actions as we’ve seen multiple times from him to this point.

Positional Profile: 2B/2B
Body: 5-9, 145-pounds. Lean, thin, athletic proportions with above average movements around the field.
Hit: LHH. Tall, narrow, square stride. Vertical set.  Aggressive entry, with more vertical orientation than previous looks. Ball speed through the middle of the field with repeatability.
Power: 87.8 max exit velocity, averaged 72.7 mph. 310’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 84 mph. High slot with carry and strength.
Defense: Travels low the ball and working right to left through the ball. Quality body control.
Run: 7.08 runner in the 60.

Lozier is a fun-to-watch prospect who plays the game with an infectious energy that translates inside the batter’s box and up the middle of the infield – and he’s progressing well in all facets, too. Adding a little more strength and size appears to have aided his game offensively. He’s always displayed the barrel feel, but at our PBR at The Rock Fall Championships last weekend, Lozier crushed a couple of balls over outfielders’ heads, from whippy bat speed. With quality, athletic actions on defense, an uptick in offensive output would take Lozier’s game to another level, and this weekend was the latest example of that happening.
