5/24/19

2022 San Pasqual C, 6-foot 160 pounds, R/R. Started at Catcher and hit cleanup. Physically looks more mature than what you would expect from a freshman. Showed some athleticism behind the plate but needs to continue to develop blocking skills and pitch framing. In four at-bats, walked three times showing plus plate discipline and approach. Level barrell through the zone led to line drive foul balls to the first base side which is a great indicator of his bat skills. Best freshman bat in the county and will be fun to watch for the next three years.

2022 San Pasqual utility player Jason Hall is quickly asserting himself as one of San Diego counties top freshmen. At 14 years of age and listed at 6’ 160 lbs, presents a lanky build with lots of room for growth and projection. Make-up showed confidence and comfortability for given situation as the only freshman on varsity and one of the only starting freshman on a varsity team in San Diego county. Offensively hits fourth in the lineup and shows potential for all five tools. Highlighted the game with the winning hit where he laced a fastball to left-field driving in the go-ahead run with two outs. Defensively played the outfield and received limited action. Reports given tell of arm strength and the potential to catch and play anywhere in the infield. Runs well for his age and should see improvement with growth and technique. Offensively sets up tall with a slightly open stance before coiling and exploding into his drive towards the ball. The barrel travels level through the zone well and connects and finishes with good extension. Hall will need to find a consistent position but based off his body type as a freshman, the inevitable growth he will endure and his overall athleticism he may be best suited for the outfield where his hitting tool will play. Will be a name to watch over the next four years and could potentially end up on the MLB 2022 draft radar.
