6/27/23

ACG Tryout - Has a compact build that produces loud pop at the plate. Has a wide base with his knees bent while hitting, with a swing that is long through the zone that produces a lot of barrels. Hit 2 long HRs to CF and 1 to LCF in BP. Good body control in the field and quick release. Definitely see him sticking at 2B in the future. Ran 6.9 in the 60 yard dash and threw 78 mph across the infield.

2/05/23

Positional Profile: SS/2B

Body: 5-11/175. Medium build w/ present strength/athleticism. RSi- 2.44, 10yd- 1.72, 60yd- 7.10, VERT - 28.3

Arm: INF- 81mph. Medium arm swing out of an upper ¾ slot. 4 out of 5 throws made accurately,  fluid/easy release and follow on throws, accurate thrower on the move.

Defense: Prep step, active/athletic feet, stays low through the ball- good mobility. Keeps an open hip towards target, sure hands, funnels to chest w/ quick exchange. Does a good job of not rushing the throw, good body control. Appears to be a confident, reliable playmaker.

Hit: RHH. Wide base, slightly closed, knees bent, low hands drawn back, still bat, small toe tap trigger and stride, very level bat path, long through the zone, good extension through contact w/ two handed finish. Quick hands and bat speed staying on the inner half of the ball (hand speed max- 22.9mph, bat speed max 77.7mph).  Barrel is direct to the ball and makes consistent, solid contact (ex velo max- 97.5mph). 78% of contact on the sweet spot, present pull side power.

7/31/22

California State Games - Uncommitted; Having seen Winters play on a number occasions there was, as always, an expectation and trust that he would perform well, and that was the case. He's got skill all over the field, at three infield spots, at the plate and an energy/confidence that just screams BALLPLAYER. His slashing stroke plays to all fields and he's also good in two strike counts. The ability to make plays, above average difficulty plays, at 2B/SS/3B speaks to the value he will bring to a college program and the bat has been the tool that has always stood out for him. 96 max EV, 40% hard hit % (balls hit over 90 mph), 50% sweet spot %, 71.2 max bat speed.

9/18/21

Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Lean and wiry strong, athletic proportions, some width to shoulders.
Hit: RHH. Starts wide open in bit of a crouch, back foot on line up on the plate, hands start low and pre-set into the load to fire from, barrel slightly angled back, rhythmic small lift to close to even in move to the stride, hand fire from pre-set position.  Works inside, has strong barrel control talent, quick bat with aggressive move through contact, fights against front side creating leverage and torque, took same mechanics from BP into game action and swung bat well with results.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, 67.4 max bat speed, 21.8 max hand speed.
Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. Generally traditional 3/4 release with compact arm stroke, has ability to drop lower when on the move to his left, closes ground on ball to allow arm to play up, accurate, capable of staying on the left side.
Defense: Aggressive to the ball, closes ground while making the play with timing, plays low, traps ball at reception, can get rid of ball quickly, angles and routes were clean, has a gritty presence and approach as a fielder.
Run: 7.11 runner in the 60.
