Positional Profile: C/INF

Body: 5-11, 175 pounds. Well proportioned. Compact upperhalf. More physical than last viewing. 

Hit: Relaxed in stance with closer set feet and tight hands. Quiet leg lift trigger. Flat and level stroke that gets in the zone quick and stays in the zone. Bat works short to long through finish. Balanced throughout. Used whole field throughout BP round. Had two hits in Game 2. One was an oppo single on an outside fastball. His second hit was on a fastball he took up the middle.

Power: 89 mph max exit velo. 314ft max exit velo. Flashes of some pullisde pop. Current gap to gap power. 

Defense: ⅘ accurate from SS in defensive workout. ⅗ accurate throwdowns. Short action out of a shorter elbow from both spots. Not accurate from the knees. Solid defensive actions at SS. Relaxed actions with confident glovework. Quick out the glove but slows down release with a glove tap. Footwork fundamentals are there. Blocking skills are there with developing receiving skills. 

Run: 7.21 laser timed 60.

Positional Profile: C / 2B
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Compact build with lean strength.
Hit: LHH. Balanced with medium width feet, even feet, hands comfortably held with barrel in slight tilt with a little waggle, higher knee lift out to in-line stride. Flat line drive stroke, handsy with good barrel timing, all field ability, hints of some future power to pull side, maintains balance throughout, extension through contact keeps barrel in zone.
Power: 89 max exit velocity
Arm: RH. C - 74 mph. INF - 77 mph. C - Quick stroke, accurate around bag allowing INF to make plays on runner, lower slot allows a quickening of the arm stroke, showed confidence as a thrower. INF - compact arm stroke, 3/4 slot, carry plays best at 2B in the infield.
Defense: 2.11-2.15 pop times. Primary position is catcher where hands are strong and soft, balanced in squat, gets out of crouch athletically, quick transfer, stays in legs behind the plate, multiple receiving stances with flexibility in hips. As INF the hands work, range is suitable to 2B, sets up to ball with skilled technique.
Run: 7.24 runner in the 60.

Body: 5-11, 175 pound athletic frame
Hit: LHH. Relaxed in stance as he is slightly open and stands tall. Slower gather into his backside as hands get into a good launch position. Uses a quick toe tap trigger to start his forward move. Flatter bath path that is extended through at finish. Showed a gap to gap approach. Average bat speed. Power: 89 mph exit velocity.
Defense: C. Showed solid glove skills behind the dish in terms of clean transfers and receiving. INF. showed solid footwork. Took good angles. Fields deeper into his body.
Arm: 78 mph infield velocity. 74 mph catcher velocity. Showed improved arm strength. Short and whippy arm action from both positions. ⅗ accurate throwdowns. ⅘ accurate throws from SS.
Speed: 7.42 (60-yard)

Positional Profile: C/2B
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Well-proportioned, strength starting to show.
Hit: LHH. Balanced, slightly open, relaxed hands, small smooth load, reverse toe tap prior to in-line stride, maintains balance throughout swing. Controls barrel, can spray/shoot ball to all fields, line drive oriented stroke with barrel awareness; 65% on plane efficiency, 59% LDs, 37.5% fly balls.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 68 max bat speed.
Arm: RH. C - 68 mph. INF - 72 mph. Deep-ish arm action behind plate, inconsistent carry w/some tailing action, in INF showed playable arm for 2B position.
Defense: 2.14-2.27 pop times. Solid glove skills both at C and INF, quiet receiver, works below the ball on the low pitch.
Run: 7.49 runner in the 60.

Bay Area World Series 2020 (BAWS) - Uncommitted; The swing is controlled, he sees the ball well, short to it w/some barrel impact that increases each time we see him. Swing plays to all fields, handles velocity well while staying in the middle. Defense profiles best to 2B, can play 3B, receives well.

CA STATE GAMES:

Positional Profile: SS/2B 
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. A well proportioned athletic frame that is starting to fill out
Hit: RHH. Is upright, slightly open and even balanced at stance. Uses a higher leg kick trigger. Sets hands low into his load and lifts the barrel up for an uphill plane. Turns tight, finishes high and has a pull side approach. 
Power: 94 mph exit velocity from the tee. Higher exit velos on inside pitches per Trackman Data. Present pull side power. Plus bat speed (73.7 mph) and rotational acceleration (21.6 g's) per blast motion data show a high ceiling for power potential.
Arm: RH. INF - 77 mph. Shorter loose arm action out of the ¾ slot. Sets up feet under him before he makes the throw. Mostly accurate and on target.
Defense: Athleticism shows with good range and footwork. Fields low to the ground and out in front with soft hands. 
Run: 7.35 runner in the 60.

Positional Profile: 2B/C 
Body: 5-foot-11, 165-pounds. Average athletic build, well-proportioned. 
Defense: 2.17-2.29 - Quick feet, replaces feet well resulting in minimal forward movement in getting off throws, sound block technique, soft hands. INF - Clean footwork w/soft hands, good angles, efficient actions, solid fundamental.
Arm: RH. C - 68 mph. INF - 70 mph. INF - Short quick arm action, good extension/finish results in better carry than raw raw arm velo suggests, accurate thrower. C - slightly low elbow on backside takes away some carry, throws tailed at the bag, chance to be competitive thrower w/development of more arm strength. 
Hit: LHH. Tall relaxed setup, very slightly open, comfortable hand setup, rhythmic quiet load, high controlled knee lift.  Maintains balance in lift/load, smooth stroke, displayed barrel control, works inside w/gap-gap approach, sound swing mechanics. 
Power: 83 mph exit velocity in cage front toss session.
Run: 7.50 runner in the 60.

7/24/19

Top Prospect IDLong and lean frame that is young and has plenty of space for added strength; length through the torso and legs with growing control and strength (7.56 60yd). Tall, slightly opened stance with high back elbow and hand wiggle even at back shoulder; gathers with knee tuck allowing him to stay behind baseball and hit over firm-front leg. Swing is compact working with direct hands and flat barrel; flashed some adjustability in his body angles but was best staying through the middle with crisp linedrives. Has improved his swing since previous viewing with more strength adding to ball flight off the bat (75 EV). Slightly turned stance behind the dish with efficient transfer from glove to throwing hand; athleticism keeps improving and has helped him to lower his pop times (2.20-2.22). Narrow receiving base with quiet head and strong wrist; am strength will be biggest area to continue improving as he was regularly on the bag with throws (65 MPH).

PBR Northern CA Underclass ID - Long, medium frame with high waist and very young body; some strength (7.91 60yd). Tall, slightly open stance with low even hands. Knee tucks with good weight transfer; keeps head on the baseball with strong rotation around the center of body. Bat is compact with level path staying to the middle of the field and pull side showing good bat-to-ball skills (72 EV). Clean transfer with glove to hand drives off his back leg for throws to bag (2.25-2.30 Pop) with compact arm (64 MPH). Presents good target with some ability to get to his knees quickly for blocks; quiet receiving hand.

PBR Central Coast Open Showcase - 5-foot-9, 135-pounds, young developing body with strength still to come, compactly built. Offensively he utilizes a balanced stance keeping his hands even and away from the body with a high back elbow. The compact swing shows flashes of hand speed while keeping a level barrel and looking to stay to the middle of the field in his approach. Has ability to spray the ball to all fields and stays inside the ball well. Behind the plate he flashed some skills starting with a growing arm (63 MPH) that regularly had the ball out quickly and consistently right around the base (2.25-2.3 pop times). The arm works from a lower slot and he showed some side to side agility on blocks. Quiet receiver, athletic set-up, calm and confident, good talk to pitchers, gets to block position easily, simple clean mechanics, sits with angle to present pitch well.
