Cornelio was one of the nation’s premier high school prospects to decide to head to college last fall, and he was off to a good start for the Frogs in the spring. Cornelio’s command was an issue early on with seven walks and six strikeouts, but he also tallied an 0.87 ERA in 10.1 innings. Cornelio has a very projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds and the stuff continues to come together. Cornelio has an electric arm with a fastball in the 92-94 and up to 95 mph range from a good angle. He also showed a curveball at 82 in the spring, while also showing a power slider at 86-87 and a changeup in the mid 80s. The talented righthander isn’t afraid to challenge hitters on both sides of the plate, and expects to take another step forward in the spring as the Frogs are tweaking his arm action to make it a bit shorter.

Texas Christian commit. 6-3, 190 pounds. Cornelio had a good bounce back start this Saturday after having a hiccup on the mound the previous weekend giving up 5 runs in 5 innings against a very good Regis Jesuit team (I don't know if you want to say this, but I feel that is what made this start very good), In an elimination game, the Eagles starter took a no-hitter to 6 and 2/3's innings against a good Broomfield team, but had to be taken out due to Colorado state high school pitch count limit rules. He carried a 91-93 mph fastball into the 6th, and touched 94 once on the day. Today he had good command of a 79-81 mph slider with late depth which was impossible for Broomfield to hit today.  Cornelio is athletic on the mound with a quick arm through the zone at a high 3/4 arm slot. Cornelio has some deception in delivery because he lands slightly closed, and ball is hidden before he gets to arm slot. In this game he struck out 10 batters, walking 4. What impressed me on mound is the composure he has with being considered the top arm in Colorado. He has the ability to slow the game down if he gets in trouble to take control of the game back. Today was a good way for Cornelio to end his excellent high school career. He would finish 8-2 this spring with a 2.14 ERA. In 55.2 innings he struck out 99 batters allowing only 32 hits.

6-foot-3, 187-pound RHP/SS. Athletically built, right handed pitching prospect, Smooth motion, directionally in line, square landing, solid, athletic finish, smooth rhythm throughout. High front side, loose, short, clean arm action, quick arm speed, over the top slot, gets over front side well, creates angle, easy effort involved. Fastball showed hard run, 88-91 mph. Curveball showed depth, 11/5 shape, 75-76 mph. Changeup, maintains fastball arm speed, good fading action, ranged 82-83 mph.

6-foot-2, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Athletic, wiry, and elastic. Advanced high school hitter at the plate. Has narrow open stance and aggressive stride towards ball that produced a 90 mph exit velocity off a tee. Didn’t pitch at the event, but we have seen him on mound multiple times and his arm is electric, and based on the throws from shortstop he is all that we advertise him to be on the mound. Arm was whippy, and was heaps and bounds ahead of any arm at the event throwing 88 mph. What is scary is his thin frame could easily add 30 more pounds to push his already 90+ fastball up to mid to upper 90's range. Ran a 4.5 home to first.

6-Foot-2, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Tall balanced stance. Hands start a little lower then last time we saw him. Generates good bat speed by swinging down to the ball, and has slightly uphill path. Good extension through finish. Good rotation on lower half. Gap to gap power. 89 mph exit velo off the tee. Ran a 7.2 60 time. Arm is electric at both short and on the mound. At short glove to hand separation works good. Tall lanky short stop with good range to both glove hand and back hand sides. 88 mph across diamond with accuracy. On mound Cornelio has athletic frame, and arm works great. In two innings struck out 6. Delivery is very simple and explodes to the mound. Very good leg drive. Fastball sat 87-88 and will easily increase with age. Could project to be mid 90's going into college especially since he's only 160 pounds. One of the top prospects in the country in the 2019 class.

A 6-foot-2, 160-pound right hand hitter who ran a 4.5 home to first.   At the plate he hits from a wide balanced stance.  He has a short stride and good weight transfer through the zone.  Quick hands helped produce an 86 MPH exit velocity.  On the mound stand tall and then gets compact during his motion.  He lands slightly closed and throws across his body.  He gets good extension out front on his fastball, which registered at 85 MPH with good command of the plate.  He added a 68 MPH curve with sweeping 10/4 break and a 74 MPH change.   In the field he shows smooth actions and quick feet to the ball.  He works well on balls to the backhand side.  He featured an 82 MPH arm with accuracy.   Identified as the best two way player and most projectable 2019 player at the UCI.
