Perriello is a swiss army knife defensively, capable of playing anywhere, but where he truly excels is behind the plate. He has a quick, clean arm. He couples this with a quick footwork and smooth exchanges, making it a tall order to try to run on him in game. He is one of the best receivers in his class, creating a low, wide target with a very flexible lower half. At the plate, he is a true switch-hitter, capable of spraying line drives from both sides. He does show more pop from the right side. On the mound, he topped out at 86 during the Future Games with a 12/6 breaking ball. The versatility of Perriello makes him an attractive prospect moving forward. 

5-foot-11, 152-pound switch-hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher, lean, athletic build, a ton of time to physically mature and continue to develop, added strength will benefit entire skill set, ran a 7.38. Offensively, similar setup from both sides of the plate, tall, open setup, long leg kick timing trigger, finishes balanced. Pull-side approach from left and right, whippy barrel and advanced hand speed, able to drive the ball with significant force for age, good feel for the barrel, 81 exit velocity off a tee. Defensively, short, loose arm, quick arm speed, over-the-top slot, 72 out of the crouch. Athletic behind the plate, advanced actions, soft receiver, quick hands and feet, pop times 2.07-2.21.

Luca Perriello is a young 2024 catching prospect out of Greenbrier and checked in at an impressive 5-foot-10, 150-pounds.  He has bat-speed and balance from both sides of the plate. He is quiet in the box with a simple quit advanced approach for age.  His exit velocity of 78 is only going to grow with age, because he shows present bat-speed but has not sniffed man strength at this time. Perriello also plays shortstop and shows strong actions as a fielder with hands and release all working well together. Behind the plate the 2024 is very interesting with the same attributes in athletic ability back there.  His posted a very strong 2.11-2.18 pop time with online throws. Still a pup, this youngster has plenty of time and room to go and looks every bit as projectable as you would want at this age with some polish to with that projectability.
