Was up to 88 mph and worked in the 85-88 range for multiple innings for DRB Elite today. The 2020 grad spun 12/6 shaped curveball with gradual downhill action, resulting in swings and misses and using as a put away pitch. 6-foot-3 frame and downhill action on the heater.
6/25/19
A strong physical build at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds. Ran an 8.11 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box with feet shoulder width apart. Slight bend in the knees. Starts with his hands back in the load position. Simple load actions. Direct path to the baseball. Has a slight leg lift at the point of contact. Ball jumps off the bat. Low effort. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Shows pop to the pull side. Top exit velocity was 96 MPH. Pitching- Displayed a repeatable delivery and a projectable live arm. Takes his time to gather himself into a good strong balanced point. Drives downhill from a strong backside. Has a slight shoulder tilt. FB has some downward action. FB ranged from 84-86 MPH and peaked at 86 MPH. CB was sharp down in the zone at 73-75 MPH. The 2020 graduate has tons of upside and is a must follow.
5/01/19
Solid frame at 6-foot-3 205 pounds that will hold additional strength. Offensively- Spread stance with a slight lean at the belt; quiet pre-pitch actions. Has always shown pull side power but swing has become more compact and is starting to work both gaps with an approach that will hit for average. Pitching- Repeatable delivery; long arm action from a 3/4 to high 3/4 slot. Fastball has shown life carrying through the zone in the mid 80's this spring. CB has tightened up and is thrown for strikes and expanded. Change up is serviceable and will continue to get better with experience.
10/28/18
Proportional frame capable of handling more weight. Strong, durable build at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds. Offensively – Sets up in wide, balanced stance with feet square to pitcher and weight pre-shifted onto backside. Low leg lift to get into forward stride. Hands stay back in strong hitting position above rear shoulder. Aggressive, compact swing with low effort bat speed. Stays inside of the ball and shows consistent lift in swing after contact. Maintains posture throughout to generate leverage. Projects to hit for more power in future with additional strength. Continues to show quality feel for the barrel. Defensively – At C, keeps hips low while receiving with upright posture in upper body. Gets out of crouch quickly to align feet with 2B. Exchanges ball cleanly at chest height to get into short, compact arm action. ¾ release point. Gets backside thru on all throws. 1B – Moves well around the bag with balanced defensive actions. Smooth footwork. Maintains wide base when funneling ball in. Flashed control of soft glove hand. Loose, easy arm action from low ¾ slot.

6-foot-2, 192 with premium size, more to come as he continues to develop, very hard working player. Moves well enough for the 1B position, Long arm action, average footwork, glove stays out in front with accurate throws from an arm that is capable of high end arm-strength. In the box he's very balanced slightly wide stance, loose hands, fluid hand movement, consistent contact and power potential, Keeps bat level through the zone with some lift, pure lefty handed swing with strength and speed, 92 mph exit velo.
Standing 6-foot-2, 200-pounds with a strong thicker build. On the mound Luke continues to impress giving off an impression to our staff there's plenty more to come. On the mound he works from a quick tempo, high knee lift, hands high. As he drives forward off a strong back side his shoulders show some uphill tilt, long stride with above average range of motion in his hips. Throws the ball from a high 3/4 slot, fastball sits 83-84 with a max of 86 mph, down in zone consistently. Curveball has feel with 11/5 shape, 63-65 velocity range. FB hand-speed CH sitting 69-72. At the plate he uses an extremely fluid repeatable barrel bath, strong and short to the ball, power to the pull-side projection, 90 mph exit velocity.
9/17/17
Athletic 6-foot-2 202 frame for the corner INF/RHP. Offensively- Left-handed hitter starts in a spread stance with rock back to kick start his timing; balance approach with some drive to the pull side gap. Elevated, two-handed finish. Middle of the order prototype. Exit velocity was 88 MPH, equal to his effort back in July. Defensively- Upright with his approach, uses choppy steps to cover ground. Over-the-top arm action with some carry. Would like to see lateral actions and agility improve. Arm strength peaked at 71 MPH but has shown better velo on the mound and has been 77 across the diamond in the past. Pitching- Works from center rubber, mid chest balance point with long arm action working through a high 3/4 slot. Direct stride with an upright finish. Fastball sat 78-79 MPH today and has been up to 80 in the past. CB has right rotation but release can get a bit long causing it to flatten out at 67-68 MPH. Mixed in a change at 69-70 MPH as well. Tools are there with long term potential as a dual player.
7/25/17
