Couch played the hero for Marquette against Bishop McNamara, hitting a walk off two-run home run to send the Crusaders to the Sectional Semifinals.

Uncommitted. Stands in at 5-foot-9, 190-pound frame with broad shoulders, room for additional strength. Made an impact at the plate on Friday (2-for-3, HR, 3 RBI, R) and pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Stands at the plate with a slightly crouched stance and wider base. Launched a no-doubt two-run home run over the left field wall in the second inning. In the fourth, he brought in another run on a hard hit ball to left. On the mound, he offered a low-80s fastball (T83) that came with some arm-side run, and a hard-biting curveball that sat in the upper-60s - showed 11/5 bite and garnered some swing-and-miss throughout his inning of work. Uncommitted name in Illinois’ junior class.

RHP Anthony Couch (Marquette Academy, 2026) had one of the louder showings on the day. The strong-bodied right-hander worked his fastball in the 82-85 mph range, showing arm-side run throughout with feel for the zone. He showed above-average spin on his curveball, spinning it on average around 2,300 rpm with depth and sharp downer bite. His slider also looks to be a high-level offering with over 2,600 rpm at times and hard lateral break, 68-72 mph. His final offering was a changeup at 74-75 mph, killing spin with nearly 20” of run at times.
