Verbally committed to Mercer University.

3/15/24

Tennessee commit. 6-foot-3, 193-pound, athletically-built, right-handed pitcher, currently ranked No. 11 in the Illinois’ 2024 class. Got the start on the mound and showed high-level stuff with uneven results. Athletic mover down the mound, arm works quick out of a ¾ slot. Inconsistent timing and misses. When in the zone, stuff is some of the best in the class. Fastball played mostly at 91-92 mph, climbed to 93 once; primarily straight action with some jump through the zone. Slider played anywhere from 77-82 mph (2500+ rpm) with late, sharp action and advanced bite when he was able to get it out front and to the arm-side. Changeup sat 82-84 mph with fastball arm speed and late running action. Went two innings, scattered three hits, three runs, walked three and struck out two.

2/15/24

SUPER 60: Tennessee commit. The 6-foot-3, 193-pound, athletic, right-handed pitcher has been one of the better movers in the class for some time now and after a dynamic performance at the Preseason ProCase in Illinois, Hayse earned an invite to the Super 60. Despite how impressive his bullpen was at the Super 60, he seemed slightly more crisp and sharper (especially with his off-speed offerings) at the ProCase. With that said, Hayse moves athletically and with pace down the mound. The arm plays clean and ultra-quick out of a high ¾ slot with seemingly all kinds of velocity still in the tank. The fastball jumps out of the hand and plays lively through the zone, topping at 93.0 mph (T93.9 mph at the ProCase). He pairs the fastball with two above-average off-speed offerings, including a changeup that flashes plus arm-side action and sink at times while playing at 83-86 mph. The slider is thrown with arm speed and creates above-average spin and tight, late action; looks to be a potential swing-and-miss offering as he continues to harness the pitch and consistently land it in the zone. High follow arm in the 2024 class that should garner plenty of attention moving forward.

Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-3, 193-pounds. Athletic build, round shoulders, evenly proportioned strength.
Delivery: Controlled tempo, highly athletic, controlled leg lift, slight coil into balance point, slight drop/drive, works in line, athletic finish.
Arm Action: RH. Compact, clean arm circle, high 3/4 release, explosive arm-speed.
FB: T94, 91-94 mph. Explodes out of the hand, plays up in the zone with run to the arm-side. T2309, 2207 average rpm.
SL: 83-85 mph. Sharp 10/4 shape, late bite with feel around and under the zone, well above average spin (+2900 rpm), true out-pitch potential. T2944, 2726 average rpm.
CH: 86-89 mph. Thrown with fastball intent, plays with late dive to the arm-side, kept mostly at the bottom/under the zone. T1861, 1804 average rpm.

6/06/23

RHP Aidan Hayse (Joliet Catholic, 2024) did well for himself across a couple of National events this summer and was also one of the top arms of the Top Tier Scout Day. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound, athletically-built right-hander continued to move well down the mound and showed a low-effort, clean arm out of a ¾ slot with noticeable acceleration out front. His fastball sat 89-91 mph, topping at 91.2 mph (tied for the event high) with life through the zone. He mixed in a slider with sharp 10/4 shape that sat 76-80 mph, T2536 rpm. Rounding out his three-pitch mix, Hayse threw a change-up that showed heavy fade to the armside (19.8” HM avg), sitting 82-84 mph. Top-10 prospect in the Illinois’ 2024 class.

5/02/23

Tennessee commit. Currently ranked No. 10 in the Illinois’ 2024 class. Listed at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds with athleticism and plenty of room to add on strength. Premier athlete, moves well down the mound with advanced hip/shoulder separation and flexibility. Quick/loose arm, plays from a high ¾ slot with a repeatable circle in the back. His fastball worked mostly 90-91 mph early on, settling in around 89 mph and popping another 91 mph in the fourth inning; jumping out of the hand with finish through the zone. Flashed a wipeout breaking ball at 75-79 mph with late bite and hard 11/5 action. Went to a developing changeup at 77-80 mph, drops his slot slightly but gets some arm-side run on it. Finished the day with four innings pitched, two htis, no earned runs, nine strikeouts and three walks. Right-hander with tremendous upside, some rawness still in there but he’s starting to harness his skillset and could see some significant jumps soon.

3/02/23

RHPs Aidan Hayse (Joliet Catholic) and Luke Weber (Highland Park) are two committed arms that currently sit towards the top of the class and continue to enhance their arsenals.

Hayse, a Tennessee commit, has a young, athletic look, short, quick, loose arm action and well above-average stuff across the board. Hayse pumped his lively, jumpy fastball in the zone at 89-90 mph. His slider is thrown with conviction and late, sharp biting action at 77-80 mph (2178 average rpm) with a low-spinning changeup in the upper-70s with late fade and sink. The ceiling is arguably as high as any in the class and he continues to harness his well above-average arsenal.

6/08/22

RHP Aidan Hayse (Morris, 2024). The Tennessee commit showed an advanced repertoire with a true four-pitch mix. His fastball worked in the 87-88 mph range with life to the arm-side and sinking action. He showed feel for two distinctly different breaking balls; the first being a short 10/4 slider, acting as a cutter at times with late bite, 77-79 mph. His second breaking ball was a curveball with sharp 11/5 action, playing with depth at 74-77 mph. To fill out his mix he went to a late darting changeup, thrown with fastball intent and deception at 78-80 mph.
