RHP Aidan Hayse (Joliet Catholic, 2024) did well for himself across a couple of National events this summer and was also one of the top arms of the Top Tier Scout Day. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound, athletically-built right-hander continued to move well down the mound and showed a low-effort, clean arm out of a ¾ slot with noticeable acceleration out front. His fastball sat 89-91 mph, topping at 91.2 mph (tied for the event high) with life through the zone. He mixed in a slider with sharp 10/4 shape that sat 76-80 mph, T2536 rpm. Rounding out his three-pitch mix, Hayse threw a change-up that showed heavy fade to the armside (19.8” HM avg), sitting 82-84 mph. Top-10 prospect in the Illinois’ 2024 class.

Tennessee commit. Currently ranked No. 10 in the Illinois’ 2024 class. Listed at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds with athleticism and plenty of room to add on strength. Premier athlete, moves well down the mound with advanced hip/shoulder separation and flexibility. Quick/loose arm, plays from a high ¾ slot with a repeatable circle in the back. His fastball worked mostly 90-91 mph early on, settling in around 89 mph and popping another 91 mph in the fourth inning; jumping out of the hand with finish through the zone. Flashed a wipeout breaking ball at 75-79 mph with late bite and hard 11/5 action. Went to a developing changeup at 77-80 mph, drops his slot slightly but gets some arm-side run on it. Finished the day with four innings pitched, two htis, no earned runs, nine strikeouts and three walks. Right-hander with tremendous upside, some rawness still in there but he’s starting to harness his skillset and could see some significant jumps soon.

RHPs Aidan Hayse (Joliet Catholic) and Luke Weber (Highland Park) are two committed arms that currently sit towards the top of the class and continue to enhance their arsenals.
Hayse, a Tennessee commit, has a young, athletic look, short, quick, loose arm action and well above-average stuff across the board. Hayse pumped his lively, jumpy fastball in the zone at 89-90 mph. His slider is thrown with conviction and late, sharp biting action at 77-80 mph (2178 average rpm) with a low-spinning changeup in the upper-70s with late fade and sink. The ceiling is arguably as high as any in the class and he continues to harness his well above-average arsenal.

RHP Aidan Hayse (Morris, 2024). The Tennessee commit showed an advanced repertoire with a true four-pitch mix. His fastball worked in the 87-88 mph range with life to the arm-side and sinking action. He showed feel for two distinctly different breaking balls; the first being a short 10/4 slider, acting as a cutter at times with late bite, 77-79 mph. His second breaking ball was a curveball with sharp 11/5 action, playing with depth at 74-77 mph. To fill out his mix he went to a late darting changeup, thrown with fastball intent and deception at 78-80 mph.
