2022 MLB Draft League: Marozas' XL, athletic frame pairs well with his above-average arsenal. The sinker (92-94) garnered a 92% GB% while with the DL and a sweeping slider and plus changeup (18" HB) kept hitters off balance.

11.29.18 - Committed to Oklahoma State out of San Jacinto JC (TX)

Transferred from Kentucky to San Jacinto JC (TX)

3.17.17 - Kentucky commit. Currently ranked No. 1 in the PBR Illinois class of 2017. 6-foot-7, 240-pound right-handed pitcher. Works from a low ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Drop and drive delivery with a closed landing, creating a slight cross fire angle. Drop and drive causes him to occasionally get underneath the ball, flattening out the fastball. Fastball worked 89-91 mph early on in the outing, settled in 87-89 mph. Slider sat 77-79 mph with sweeping action, snapped off one that flashed swing and miss potential.

Super 60 2017 - Kentucky recruit. 6-foot-7, 240-pound right-handed pitcher, extra-large frame, wide shoulders, powerful lower half, overall hulking specimen on the mound. Showed increased velocity at the Super 60, topping at 93 mph while sitting 91-92. Works across his body from 3/4 slot, open-toe landing, moderate effort for premium velocity. Fastball has heavy feel to the arm side with run and sink. Changeup has shown improvement, 83-85 mph with arm-side sink. Slider ranged between 78-79 mph, tendency to get underneath, more lateral in action. Also threw a curveball at 77-78.

10.20.16 - Started for the Reds Midwest Scout Team and allowed two runs on five hits while striking out one. He has a big, strong frame at 6-foot-7, 240 pounds. He pitches with a low arm slot and short arm action for a pitcher his size. The lower slot gets arm-side sink and run to his fastball, which started out 88-91 and settled into the high 80s, inducing weak contact. He slowed his arm some on his changeup, but did flash feel for the pitch. It was 81-82. His breaking ball was slurvy and flat at 71-75.

8.10.16 - Verbally committed to Kentucky.

7.24.16 - De-commits from Mississippi State, back on the market.

6.21.16 - Mississippi State recruit. 6-foot-7, 230-pound right-handed pitcher, imposing presence on the mound, impressive physical specimen, athletic build with proportional strength, defined lower half yet still has room for continued physical development. Proved himself as the top overall prospect at the PBR Midwest ProCase; currently ranked No. 20 in the overall rankings. Continues to show improvement. For size, arm is athletic; works across his body from 3/4 slot, open-toe landing, minimal effort. Fastball has heavy arm-side sink when down in the zone, sat 89-90; more velocity likely to come. Slider has shown vast improvements over the last year; especially command, sat 76-77 mph, more lateral action but threw a few with sharp, late two-plane bite. With more refinement, could be a plus offering in the future. Threw a high-volume of strikes with fastball/slider combination. Breezed through his extended inning, recording two strikeouts, including the first batter on three pitches. Should be a high-level draft follow in the 2017 class

6.4.16 - Mississippi State commit. 6-foot-7, 230-pound right-handed pitcher, extra-large frame, solid build, lumbering lower half. Delivery looked more directional, slight drop and drive style, open toe landing. Strong quick arm, works from ¾ slot, gets extension, projectble arm. Fastball has arm side run, established his fastball and showed ability to fill up the zone early, 87-89 mph in first two innings, settled in at 85-88 mph. Breaking ball ranged from 71-77 mph, 76-77 early in game, more lateral action, pitched more at 71-74 mph. Flashed a fading changeup at 78 mph. Showed compete on the mound, occasionally pulled extra from the tank when needed late in game. 2017 draft follow.

5.4.16 - Mississippi State recruit. Ranked No. 5 in the Illinois 2017 class and No. 61 overall. 6-foot-7, 230-pound right-handed pitcher with an extra-large frame and room to continue to add strength. One of the more projectable, intriguing 2017 right-handed pitchers in the Midwest. Has been up to 90 mph at a previous event. Marozas pitched to contact and routinely missed barrels with his fastball. Also, flashed pitchability and feel for a three pitches. Repeatable, drop and drive delivery, rhythm and balance throughout; short leg lift, lands square and on-line. Out of the stretch, uses a quick tuck and go to the plate. Arm works long, loose and clean from a ¾ slot. Fastball, thrown for strikes, hard, natural, arm-side-run and sink. Worked the bottom of the strike zone, nobody squared him up, 86-88 mph early on, settled in at 85-87 mph. Slider, above-average feel, sweeping action, and ranged between 72-75 mph. Mixed in a few changeups, fade action and clocked at 77 mph. Marozas retired eight of the first nine batters he faced via strike out or groundball. Final Line: 6IP, 1H, 1R, 0ER, 4K, 0BB.

2.14.16 - Mississippi State commit. Extra-large frame, 6-foot-7, 230-pound right-handed pitcher, prototypical pitchers body. Regular effort, delivery has rhythm, occasionally rotational, open toe landing, strong and sturdy. Arm action is long and loose, ¾ slot, occasionally low ¾ , quick strong arm. Fastball has hard arm side run and sink, heavy feel, occasionally underneath, 86-89 mph. Slider has 10/4 sweeping action, thrown aggressively, 76-78 mph. Changeup showed fade to arm side, 78-80 mph, some feel. 2017 draft follow.

12.9.15 - Verbally committed to Mississippi State.

10.18.15 - Extra-large frame, prototypical pitchers body, 6-foot-7, 211-pound right-handed pitcher. Smooth delivery with rhythm, cross body with open toe landing, shoulders stay level as eyes move towards target. Arm action is loose, ¾ slot, free and easy, projectable arm speed. Fastball shows hard late running action to arm side, heavy feel, plus action in hitting zone, showed feel for the zone at 87-89 mph. Hard slider at 77-79 mph, fastball arm speed, 10/4 plane, occasionally got on side but showed swing and miss action. Changeup fades, flat running action to arm side, left up on this occasion, 78-80 mph. Marozas is one of the top pitching prospects in the state, still uncommitted and will be a 2017 draft follow.

9.5.15 - 6-foot-6, 204-pound right-handed pitcher with a solid frame. Works from a high 3/4arm slot with a short, quick arm action with an uptempo delivery. Uses a four pitch mix. Warmed up 88-89 with heavy sinking action on his fastball. Pitched comfortably in the 84-86 range during his four innings. Slider is  est offspeed overing at 75-77 mph with tight sweeping action. Curveball has same action as slider with more depth at 72-73 mph. Changeup shows sinking action thrown with fastball arm speed at 77-78 mph. High level 2017 arm to follow in the Midwest.

8.23.15 - One of the top arms in Illinois’ 2017 class. Extra-large, sturdy pitchers frame, workhorse type build, solid lower half, 6-foot-6, 205-pound right-handed pitcher. Delivery works with tempo, side saddle rocker step, slight leak can load more at top, stays behind the baseball, slightly across body, heel to open toe landing. Plus arm strength for age, loose arm, full clean arm action, ¾ slot. Fastball has plus action for age, hard arm side life, showed the ability to pound the zone with it, sat 87-89 mph, touched 90 mph once, high level fastball. Showed improved slider since last seeing him, showed feel, 11/5 plane, power type pitch, hard action with fastball aggressiveness, 76-78 mph. Showed feel for changeup, hard late arm side action, ability to control the zone, swing and miss potential, 81-82 mph. Projects as a high level right-handed pitcher, high follow 2017.

4.20.15 - Currently ranked No. 12 in Illinois’ 2017 class, No. 107 overall. Highly projectable 6-foot-5, 190-pound frame, athletic arm, high-3/4 slot, high back elbow, works across body, open-toe/heel-strike landing, drop-and-drive delivery. Fastball ranged between 80-83 mph for first two innings, 79-82 in third and fourth innings; crossfire action, mostly straight. Also throws 69-71 mph slurve, tendency to get underneath pitch, erratic 10/4 action. Pitched five innings, allowing six hits and six runs. He struck out three and walked three.

1.18.15 - 6-foot-5, 190-pound physical right-handed pitcher, long levers, currently ranked No. 10 in Illinois’ 2017 class. Marozas works from a long, loose high ¾ arm slot, tall/fall type delivery, strides well across his body, but then lands slightly open at times, stride direction causes shoulders to close off, work side-to-side, and limits extension on pitches. Fastball sat 83-85 mph, curveball showed gradual break, 11/5 shape in the 63-65 mph range. Drops angle slightly at times on 67-70 mph slider, shape is more lateral that curveball. Also threw 75-76 mph changeup with arm side run. Shows feel for all four pitches, breaking balls show separation. Marozas has as high of a ceiling as any prospect in the 2017 class and will be followed closely over the next three seasons.

10.26.14 - 6-foot-5, 190-pound physically impressive and projectable right-handed pitcher works from a long, loose, high ¾ arm slot, slight stab in back of arm swing doesn’t affect ability to get out front. Toe up at balance point, shoulders stay level throughout delivery, starts from the first base side of the rubber, lower half stride direction drifts, works across his body falling towards third base, lands square, athletic finish. Fastball with late finish through the zone sat from 82-86 mph, mostly 84-86. Slider and curveball show similar 11/5 shape, threw both for strikes. Slider sat 69-71 mph, curveball sat 66-69 mph. 77-78 mph flashed arm side run. Marozas has as high of a ceiling as any prospect we’ve seen in the 2017 class. His feel for four pitches was impressive, he’ll be a high follow prospect in the class of 2017.
