Jefferson JC commit, ranked No. 244 overall in the state’s senior class. Athletic 6-foot, 160-pound athlete with lean strength. Started on the mound for the Eagles in their season opener, scattering six hits over 4 ⅔ innings of work. Punched out six and walked one, allowing an earned run in total. Starts square on the rubber with a side-step rock to start his delivery. Athletic leg lift, gets onto his backside with subtle drop/drive down the mound. Works across his body onto an open-toed landing, intentful through release. Arm draws down out of his glove with some length on the backside, travels on a tight path to an over-the-top release. Fastball played with some jump out the hand at the top of the zone at 83-85 mph, touching 86 mph on his firmest bullet. Also effective down in the zone, gets on top of it at times and spotted the lower quadrant. Advanced feel for a changeup thrown from the same slot and intent as his fastball at 78-80 mph, hard fading action, pronates naturally. Tight spin with late break on a breaking ball at 75-77 mph, feel to land it for strikes and below the zone for whiffs. A polished, athletic southpaw with three pitches that will be one to follow at the next level.
