8/9/14 - 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed pitcher currently ranked No. 246 in Illinois’ 2015 class.  Fastball sat 84-86 mph in first inning of work, 82-84 mph in second inning.  Works from a long, two-piece, high ¾ to over the top slot, stabs and wraps in back of arm action, but possesses above average arm speed.  Slight drop and drive delivery, toe up at balance point, leans torso back at balance point, shoulders work uphill, lower half stride direction stays in line with home plate.  Arm action effects speed of breaking ball, which is thrown 65-67 mph.  Did now show a changeup in game action, but sat between 74-77 mph between innings.  Schrimmer’s delivery is unique in that he is a bit stiff and awkward, but it’s a different look that provides deception and can make hitters uncomfortable.  Gave up one unearned run in two innings of work, with two strikeouts, not allowing a hit.

Schrimmer has shown excellent improvements since seeing him last in September of 2013, gaining five mph on his fastball.
9.25.13 - 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-hander who throws from a ¾ slot with a long, loose arm action. Uses a drop and drive style delivery that showed sound rhythm and quality direction. His fastball was 78-80 mph out of the wind and stretch, with flashes of running action. His curveball comes in at 64-68 mph with a 12/6 shape and loose, rolling action.
