The athlete's fastest 60-yard dash time in the given event year. Measured in seconds (s)
7.25
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

A measure of any athlete's body strength and reach calculated from the flight time divided by the contact time.
The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
RHP/SS Caden Earing (Mundelein, 2025), who also swung an athletic right-handed bat, was one of the more interesting prospects of the day on the mound. Earring produces easy velo out of a ¾ slot, sitting 88-89 mph with the fastball and ability to pound the zone. He shows ability to spin the breaking ball with intent at 75-67 mph, and when on plane could be a wipe out pitch down the road.

Positional Profile: RHP/3B Body: 5-9, 135-pounds. Delivery: Fluid delivery with an athletic drop/drive lower-half, strides in-line with a square landing foot. Arm Action: RH. Loose/whippy arm that plays from a 3/4 slot, quick to release. FB: T82, 80.0-81.9 mph. Jumps out of the hand with easy life and horizontal action, rides through the zone. T2153, 2047 average rpm. CB: 71.8-73.6 mph. Thrown with intent, sharp 11/5 shape with short action. T2179, 2148 average rpm. CH: 73.7-75.4 mph. Thrown with fastball intent, hard diving action to the armside, kept down. T1775, 1595 average rpm.

RHP Caden Earing (Mundelein, 2025) gave our scouting staff his strongest showing to date, adding five mph to his fastball since our last look this past June. The athletic right-hander ran his fastball up to 82 mph with easy life and finish through the zone, playing with notable horizontal action and pouring it in for strikes. His curveball pairs off his fastball effectively, thrown with intent and breaking off a sharp 11/5 plane with short shape, sitting mostly in the 72-74 mph range. Earing went to an above-average changeup to round out his arsenal; thrown with fastball arm-speed and featuring heavy arm-side sink, also kept down at 74-75 mph.
6/06/21
Athletic 5-foot-6, 125-pound frame and loose, quick, upside arm action that plays clean out of a high ¾ slot. Earing ran his fastball up to 77 mph and should continue to see plenty of velocity gains as he matures and gets into high school.
