Indiana State commit; No. 44-ranked prospect in the state’s 2019 class. 5-foot-9, 165-pound left-handed pitching prospect, one of the more competitive pitchers in the state. Long, quick arm action, over-the-top slot. Gets the ball and goes, quick tempo, attacks the zone. Repeats delivery, easy rhythm, works on line and lands square. Feel for four pitches. Fastball, late life through the zone, sat 85-88 mph, touched one 89. Curveball, aggressive, sharp 1/7 shape with depth, swing-and-miss pitch. Cut-slider, his go-to offspeed on this day, sharp, consistent late action, thrown for strikes, 80-83 mph. Changeup, thrown at arm speed, another aggressive offering, kept down in the zone, some fade, 79-82 mph. Allowed three hard-earned walks in 2.2 innings against Oak Forest, but did not allow a hit or run. Struck out eight batters over that span.


Verbally committed to Indiana State.


5-foot-9, 165-pound, left-handed pitcher. One of the top uncommitted left-handed arms in the class. Long, loose, quick arm action from an over-the-top slot. Quick tempo in delivery, works on-line, lands square and smooth rhythm throughout. Above-average action on four-pitch mix. Fastball has late life, jumps through the hitting zone, sat 86-88 mph. Curveball, thrown aggressively, 1/7 shape, sharp spin, depth, swing-and-miss potential, 72-74 mph. Changeup, maintains arm speed, fade acton, thrown for strikes, 78-80 mph. Also, mixed in a cutter, short tight break, 81-82 mph. High-follow 2019 arm.


5-foot-8, 155-pound, left-handed pitcher, currently ranked No. 74 in the Illinois’ 2019 class. Started on the mound for Rochester. Athletic delivery works with rhythm, slightly up-tempo, high front side and stays on-line with some effort throughout. Arm action is long, uninterrupted, loose and quick out of a high ¾ slot. Works fast and has a presence on the mound. Fastball has late arm-side-action, finishes through the zone, sat 84-86 mph throughout. Throws all of his pitches with conviction and can spin the baseball. Curveball 12/6 to 1/7 shape, depth, aggressive, tight spin and confident with it, sat 72-74 mph. Also, flashed a cutter with late, short, horizontal break, 81-82 mph. Only saw a few changeups, 77-79 mph. Final Line: 4.1 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 7 K, BB. Follow 2019 left-handed pitcher.


5-foot-8, 155-pound, left-handed pitcher. Made a big jump in velocity since the winter. On the mound, long, loose arm action, high ¾ arm slot, works on-line, strong front side, lands square. Showed feel for a four pitch mix. Fastball, mostly straight, jumps out of his hand, 84-85 mph, touching 86. Curveball, 12/6 shape, sharp break, fastball arm speed, 68-71 mph. Changeup, fastball arm speed, flashed sink, 75-77. Cutter, tight action, occasional slider shape, 76-77 mph. High-follow 2019 left-handed pitcher.


5-foot-9, 150-pound, two-way prospect. Offensively, keeps it simple. Slightly crouched setup, short stride. Short swing with strength through contact. Consistent hard contact going 3-3 with two doubles, one down the line in left field and another to the right-center gap.


5-foot-8, 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Accurate throws with carry throwing 85 mph from the outfield. Athletic actions playing thru the ball with fluid footwork and a clean exchange. At the plate hits from a crouched setup with a short stride and good balance. Short, uphill swing path, pull tendencies. 80 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.76 runner down the line.


5-foot-8, 155-pound left-handed pitcher. Small frame with an easy arm action, works well, high ¾ slot, loose arm. Closed front side, works slightly across his body. Fastball has slight arm side run, creates angle, 78-81 mph. Curveball has 1/7 shape, 65-67 mph. Changeup has fade, slower arm speed, 67-69 mph.


5-foot-7, 130-pound, freshman left-handed pitcher on varsity. Came out of the bullpen in the seventh inning to get the final two outs against Springfield HS. Quick, lively arm from an over-the-top slot. Stays on-line, high front side and lands athletically. Fastball works straight, missed up in the zone at times and clocked at 79-80 mph and touched 81 twice. Not afraid to get in on right-handed hitters with his fastball.

10/9/19:Aggressive and strike-throwing, Edmonson worked quick, mixing four pitches for strikes. His fastball sat on 88, reaching 89 on a couple occasions while showing a firm 83 mph changeup which was thrown with fastball arm speed. His best secondary offering was an average 82 mph slider, while he also spun a 77 mph curveball. Overall, Edmonson had the look of immediate contributor as a weekend starter for the Sycamores.
