4/12/14 - Currently ranked No. 52 in Illinois’ 2014 class, No. 242 overall. Bradley recruit. Solid 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame, high-level athlete (6.70 runner). Speed translates in centerfield, tracks down balls well and has plus arm (90 mph at past PBR event). Throws are on-line and accurate. Ran a 4.20 down the line from the right side in game. Scored twice, stole a base, drove in a run and walked. In three years, could be interesting draft prospect at Bradley.

1/12/14 - The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Carroll has been earmarked as a higher-level prospect since his breakout performance at the PBR Top Prospect Showcase last June. Carroll once again confirmed his standing at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase when he posted eye-popping numbers: He ran an event-best 6.70 60; registered an event-best 90-mph from the outfield and delivered an 89-mph exit velocity. What’s even more impressive is Carroll, also a standout wide receiver, was just cleared to play after suffering a broken collarbone from a football injury suffered in October. Also a top-level student, Carroll has a stronger frame, but still has plenty of room to develop. Offensively, he has strong, athletic hands and has a balanced right-handed swing with burgeoning power.

6.13.13 - Highly dynamic athlete, advanced physicality, 6-foot-2, 200-pound outfielder, advanced build and physical make up. High level foot speed, 6.78 runner. Defensively shows smooth footwork, fields the ball athletically, and plays through the baseball, smooth actions. Arm played at 89 mph from the outfield, loose arm action, high ¾ arm slot, showed accuracy and carry to his target. Offensively hits from a tall stance, short stride, solid balance. Quiet simple approach, above average bat speed, short path with extension, stays flat through the baseball, occasional pull side approach. 79 mph exit velocity from the tee.

5/4/13 - Advanced 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame, extremely athletic. Right-handed hitter ran a 4.22 home-to-first on a 6-3 putout; ran a 6.72 60 at the PBR Preseason All-State Showcase. Covers a lot of ground in centerfield, moves fluidly with long strides. Has short arm action from outfield, solid carry (clocked at 84 mph). Offensively, hits from a tall setup, longer path, some stiffness; made hard contact in all four at-bats, finishing 1-for-4 with two runs, a stolen base and was robbed for a hit. Also a standout receiver in football. High-follow prospect.

2/17/13 - Athletic frame, strong body, 6-foot-2, 190-pound two way player. Defensively displayed a quick release from the outfield, quick short arm action, high ¾ arm slot, 84 mph from the outfield. No crow hop, uses shuffle step to transfer and release the baseball. Well above average runner, 6.72 60 yard dash. Offensively, hits from a balanced stance, stride dives to the plate, lower half has partial involvement. Flashes sneaky strong pop at the plate, 86 mph exit velocity. On the mound, delivery has slow tempo, easy effort, finish is athletic and upright. Arm operates from a high ¾ arm slot, short arm action. Fastball sits at 82-83, touches 84. Curveball works on 11/5 plane, decelerates arm speed, shows control, 71-74 mph, flashes 76 mph. Changeup has sink, 76-78 mph.
