Funkhouser was a key piece for the title-winning Edwardsville roster this season. The Central Missouri commit recorded 54 hits, 27 RBI, and slashed .372/.466/.566 in 145 at-bats this spring. The senior stole 13 bases on the year and was a crucial piece of the Edwardsville defense.

Central Missouri signee. Athletic frame that tacked on strength over the off-season, now standing more sturdy in stature. Earned a mention within our Week 1 Scout Blog after an impressive look at the Kickoff Classic. Hit leadoff for the Tigers in this look, starting at second base. Simple balanced presence in the box, loads in rhythm as hands work back and tip, strides short and controlled through contact, plenty hitterish. Short, direct path to contact, simple with a knack for the barrel, all-fields feel. Took an 88 mph fastball deep into the right-center gap for a triple in his first at-bat, did so again for an RBI single in his second - finished the game with three hits total. Continues to show advanced actions on the infield too - constantly in rhythm with his lower half, soft hands cradle the baseball out front, quick releases in IO pre-game. An on-the-rise senior that’s started his final year off on a high note.

Central Missouri commit, ranked No. 93 overall in the state’s senior class. Has added strength since our last look in the summer, particularly in the lower half. Hit leadoff and started at second base for the Tigers. Simple and athletic at the plate with balance, fluid load, strides short and maintains posture through contact. Loose hands with rhythm, short and direct bat path, level with little swing-and-miss and line drive feel. Drove the first pitch he saw all season deep over the left field fence for a home run, singled as well and drew a walk. Impressed defensively in pre-game and in between innings. Feet consistently work around the baseball in rhythm, soft hands work out front and funnel cleanly, short to release without much added time. Has shown our staff an advanced defensive ability multiple times in the past. Figures to be a catalyst on both sides of the ball for the Tigers this spring. 

5-foot-8, 142-pound, loose-bodied, fluid athlete. Started at second base and hit leadoff. Hits with all kinds of rhythm and fluidity throughout. Loose hands, bat stays on plane and has intent. Finished 1-for-4 with a walk and stolen base. Defensively, efficient, athletic, savvy defender with a high baseball IQ. Follow 2023 uncommitted middle infielder with upside to all parts of his game.

Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. Short, clean arm action. 3/4 slot. Arm plays on the move.
Defense: Quick feet, loose actions, plays with rhythm.
Run: 7.01 runner in the 60. 

5-foot-7, 125-pound, right-handed hitting infielder. Offensively, is a follow right-handed bat as he matures and gains strength to his frame. Confident in the box, pre-pitch rhythm, loose, athletic hands, bat stays on plane and through the zone, consistently on time. Defensively, played second base. Sure-handed, clean transfer and should stick on the dirt moving forward.
