Duke commit, currently ranked No. 4 in Illinois, No. 497 nationally. 6-foot-6, 223-pound right-handed pitcher, lean muscle throughout the frame, athletic look with more room to continue to add, proportionate with a high-waist. High-level athlete and standout on the basketball court, athleticism translates to the mound where he can repeat his delivery at an impressive clip despite his hulking size. Up-tempo mover with a controlled leg-lift into a medium balance point, slight coil, gets his momentum moving downhill immediately from leg-lift, stride works in-line with a square landing foot, clean operation with an easy look to it. Clean and uninterrupted arm path, medium arm circle with a high ¾ release. Fastball touched 95 mph early and sat 94 mph in the first inning from the windup, sat more 92-93 mph in the stretch, settled in around 90-93 mph into the third inning. Attacked in the zone with the fastball garnering late swings, plays at the top of the zone for whiffs. The slider was inconsistent in this look with scattered command, though it has potential with bullet shape in the 81-85 mph range. Flashed a changeup at 89 mph with hard arm-side run and some dive under the zone. Battled through command issues early with the off-speed but turned in a gutsy six-inning performance against a strong lineup. Immense upside and intrigue surrounding the big right-hander, one of the higher ceilings in the midwest with a chance for even more velocity jumps in the near future.
Duke commit. Currently ranked No. 4 in the state and No. 497 nationally. Sturdy 6-foot-6, 223-pound frame. Got the start for the Trojans and was efficient throughout, throwing 69% strikes and 69% first-pitch strikes on the day. Doyle has a clean, controlled delivery down the mound with a medium arm circle from a high ¾ slot. His fastball sat 91-93 mph, touching 94 early before settling into the 90-93 mph range, and he controlled it well throughout the zone. His slider at 82-84 mph was his go-to offering against right-handed hitters and generated whiffs, while also showing the ability to generate whiffs from left-handed hitters as well. He also mixed in a splitter at 80 mph that flashed swing-and-miss potential to round out his arsenal. A two-sport athlete who also plays basketball, Doyle profiles as a starter at the next level. Line: W, 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 9 K. An MLB Draft follow to keep tabs on as the 2026 draft cycle approaches.
Long-levered 6-foot-7, 225-pound frame with lean strength and more room to add. Doyle gave arguably the most-impressive look of the entire Illinois preseason. The right-hander showed a clean, athletic delivery that is simple and allows him to repeat with ease, utilizing a shorter balance point and drop/drive lower-half that stays in-line. The arm action is loose and clean, working long out of the glove into a high ¾ slot. The fastball played 94-95 mph, topping at 96 mph with clear extension out front and life through the zone. The slider spin continues to get better, now averaging just under 2,400 rpm with shorter, tight break, 81-83 mph. The changeup is a real weapon for him with feel in the zone, averaging just under 17” of run, 82-84 mph. Also a standout on the basketball court, the ceiling is immense with Doyle and he’s made some eye-opening strides over the off-season, and he is a must-know name for pro teams to add to their early follow lists.
Verbally committed to Duke.
RHP Colin Doyle (Downers Grove North, 2026) is an imposing, long-limbed, 6-foot-7, 215-pound frame, and he showed why he has one of the highest ceilings in the 2026 class. The right-hander on the mound is a loose, easy mover, working on a line with a drop and drive motion. The arm works loose and quick, with full-circle arm action from a lower ¾ slot. Showcasing a three-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 86-88 mph, easy out of the hand, with 18.6 IVB and slight cut with 4.8 inches of horizontal movement. The slider was 72-74 mph, a gyro profile with 2400 RPMs. The changeup was 80-81 mph with arm-side run, dropping of from the fastball. In-game, Doyle showed some command struggles, but was able to find himself deeper into his outing, pounding the zone with fastballs.

Started on the mound in a big conference matchup and earned the complete game win, firing seven innings with five hits, two earned runs, four walks and seven strikeouts. He moves well for his size with a controlled tempo into a medium leg-lift, slight drop/drive downhill while working in-line, smooth and clean mover, repeats well for size and is mostly in-sync. Arm plays with a clean and medium circle out of the glove, uninterrupted, high ¾ release. The fastball really jumps out of the hand and plays up through the zone, collecting swing and miss in the zone as well as some chases up, 86-89 mph early, topped out at 90 mph in the third inning. Curveball flashed sharp action and depth at 73-75 mph, opposing hitters had a tough time picking it up whether it be with takes or bad swings. High-ceiling arm that seems to just be scratching the surface.
Uncommitted. 6-foot-6, 204-pound frame, long-levered with plenty more room to add as he matures. Came out of the ‘pen and gave an ultra-intriguing look, striking out two without allowing a hit or run. The big right-hander controls his levers well for his size and repeats with ease, fluid mover with a controlled tempo, competed in the zone with his fastball while playing 84-87 mph, collected swing/miss and attacked. High-follow name to know.

SS/RHP Colin Doyle (Downers Grove North, 2027) made his PBR event debut last month at Providence Catholic High School and impressed. Doyle’s frame stands out for his age standing in a projectable 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame. He controlled his long levers on the mound, showing clean actions and feel for his three-pitch mix. His fastball sat 76-79 mph, topping out at 79.8 mph with 87% spin efficiency. His curveball has 11/5 shape with short actions, but he finds it in and around the strike zone. Doyle’s change-up has some fading actions, and he kills the spin, too (1567 rpm). Intriguing at the plate, he has a natural uphill swing, almost exclusively sending balls up the middle and to the pull-side. Showed fluid actions in the infield working in rhythm throughout.
