Infield Velocity
The athlete's maximum throwing velocity from an infield position in the given event year. Measured in miles per hour (MPH).
74.0
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Uncommitted. Stands out before he even steps onto the field thanks to his ultra-large 6-foot-8, 230-pound frame with well-proportioned strength. Hogan impressed on the mound throughout his outing with a quality three-pitch mix and mature mound presence. The southpaw’s arm plays long and loose out of the glove into a ¾ slot. Down the mound, Hogan moves with a fluid tempo, working into a slight drop/drive lower-half from balance point into a long stride that remains in-line. His fastball hovered around the 80 mph mark, sinking to the arm-side with notable glove-side feel, also reaching the plate with added perceived velocity due to his stride length and close release. His breaking ball was his off-speed of choice this day, going to it often and possessing feel both for strikes and under the zone, 1/7 shape with sharp action at 71-73 mph. He also displayed feel for a fading changeup at 73-75 mph, thrown off a near-identical fastball release/arm action and sinking to his arm-side. Highly intriguing southpaw with upside to keep tabs on.
3/18/22
6-foot-8, 230-pound, extra-large, imposing, physical left-handed pitcher. Coming off an impressive 2021 sophomore campaign. Started and picked up the win in the first start of the season going four innings, scattering four hits, one run, no walks and five strikeouts. Controls his body and repeats his delivery extremely well given his frame. Loose, clean arm stroke, high ¾ slot. Fastball plays clean out of the hand, holds plane and plays harder than the 78-81 mph velocity due to the extension he gets down the mound. Showed a three-pitch mix throughout including a curveball at 71 mph and changeup at 76 mph. Intimidating at-bat with a high-ceiling and seemingly much more in the tank.

Positional Profile: LHP/1B; An imposing look from the mound, and a follow arm in the state's 2023 class. Body: 6-6, 230-pounds. An extra-large, durable build. Delivery: Tall, staggered start from the right edge of the rubber; simple and direct to tall balance point, with hip turn/tuck. Strides far down mound with shoulders uphill, high front; creates huge extension (6.39 feet, on average),with low effort and fluid rhythm/balance from start to finish. Arm Action: LH. Long, loose, clean arm action to a high 3/4 slot; large extension down the mound lowers average release height (4.76 feet), adding to optimal, increased perceived velocity. FB: T78, 77-78 mph. Heavy, with arm-side; again, large extension allows this pitch to play up. CB: 64-65 mph. Raw feel to spin; gradual depth. SL: 66-67 mph. Similar profile to curve; favors horizontal, sweep projection. CH: 69-71 mph. Matches traditional arm action well; spots it well under the zone, arm-side run/fade.
Defense: Some pre-pitch bounce, fields under center of body. Arm: LH. INF - 74 mph. Short arm action, 3/4 slot. Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, some pre-pitch hand rhythm, leg kick trigger to a long stride. Short and flat bat path through the zone, line drive approach. Power: 80 mph exit velocity from the tee. Run: 8.26 runner in the 60.
