Continues to show he has one of the strongest arms in the class. Started on the mound and went six innings, scattering five hits, two runs, one earned, struck out 11 and walked one. Fastball jumps out of the hands, occasional arm-side-run, sat 90-92 mph, touching 93 once early on; settled in at 88-90 mph after the first couple of innings. Went to his slider early and often, maintains arm speed, thrown aggressively, 10/4 shape, late bite at times, 80-82 mph. Saw a couple of straight changeups at 84 mph.

Came out of the bullpen and did not throw one fastball under 90 mph in his first inning of work; sat 90-92 mph, touching a couple 93’s. Second inning worked more in the 88-89 mph range. Fastball was around the plate, mostly straight, occasional arm-side-action. Went to his slider only a couple of times. Flashed one with late bite, 10/4 shape and swing-and-miss action, 84 mph. Did not allow a hit in his two innings and struck out five. Should draw some pro interest moving forward this spring.

Likely to climb in the rankings thanks to his recent performances. 6-foot-3, 205 pound, long-limbed, athletic build, right-handed pitcher. Plenty of room for continued physical development. In his first varsity start, Taylor finished with a line of: 3 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 0 R, 6 K’s. Works with a slight drop and drive delivery, directionally in line, sturdy balance point with an athletic finish out front. Clean, loose arm action, quick arm speed on all pitches out of a high ¾ arm slot. Solid body control throughout delivery. Fastball had some tilt with arm side run, ranged 85-87 mph. Curveball, 11/5 shape, thrown firm with good arm action, 75-76 mph. Changeup faded in the zone, only thrown in warm ups.
