Hits from a balanced setup, excellent plate awareness, patient hitter. Shows advanced bat speed, flashed advanced pop to pull side, occasionally hits off front side. Strong offensive presence, power potential. Defensively shows soft hands, 2.1 pop time, arm stays on line, some arm strength.

The physical 6-foot-3, 225-pound junior powered the Porters' offense, finishing with a .491 batting average. Bangert, who possesses a strong arm, also recorded 14 doubles and 5 home runs while driving in 25 runs. He also limited opponents' running game.
2/19/12 Bangert is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound physical specimen and uses his strength in every aspect of the game.  Bangert impressed at the plate with his ability to consistently square up the baseball with authority. Bangert has impressive juice in his bat; the ball comes off his barrel differently than most. For his power potential, he has remarkably quiet and balanced swing mechanics. Defensively, Bangert moves well for a big man, and showed off a strong arm, 84 mph from across the diamond.  Behind the dish, Bangert was 81 mph from the crouch and posted a top pop time of 2.0.
With his 6-foot-3, 225-pound frame and extraordinarily strong lower half,Bangert is a physically advanced catcher who showcased big power potential at the plate. With his strength and balance throughout his swing, the ball jumps off his bat with backspin carry. He has an easy swing that features a short stride and economical path to the ball. Defensively, Bangert can play behind the plate or a corner infield position. He demonstrated a strong, accurate arm that posted velocities of 78 mph from behind the dish and 85 mph from third base.
At 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Bangert is an imposing physical specimen who has advanced strength for his age. Defensively, Bangert showcased quick feet and a top pop time of 2.18. At the plate, Bangert used his strong lower half and level swing to drive the ball with some authority.
