McKendree commit, currently ranked No. 129 in the state. Features a slightly open setup with loose motions pre-swing, medium leg lift, quick, slightly uphill swing that stays through the zone. Deaver showed off an ability to hit the ball to all fields against some quality arms on the day. His second at-bat saw him line the ball to the right fielder off of Tyler Powell for double, which eventually would lead to him scoring later in the inning. His third at-bat saw him go the other way off of Tony Eberlin for his second double of the day. He ended the day 2-for-3 against Edwardsville with two doubles and a walk on the day out of the leadoff spot.

Deaver came around to score three runs as he went 2-for-4 at the plate while driving in a run. The left-handed hitter operates from a wide, upright stance with a long stride. Quick bat speed from a compact swing with a flat bat path. Jumped all over a ball for a single to his pull-side. Showcased his speed with a stolen base. Covered plenty of ground in center.
Gabe Deaver, OF, Triad, 2025 McKendree commit. 5-foot-8, 142-pound, left/left, outfielder. Hits at the top of the order of a Triad squad that came away as one of the biggest winners of the Kickoff Classic. Loose, athletic overall prospect with more strength to come. Creates whip and leverage in the swing. Went 1-for-3 with three runs scored, a walk and an RBI in game one. Went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, four RBI’s and two runs scored in game two. Flashed an above-average arm and patrols ground with easy, fluid actions in the outfield.
