Open, crouched setup and confident look in the box. Swings with controlled aggression, ability to repeat and stay connected. Short, direct path to the ball, creates lift and leverage to the pull-side with present bat speed. Consistently took some of the best BP on Team Illinois. Routinely found the barrel and flashed pull-side power. 92 mph exit velocity. Defensively, primarily played first base during the event but has the ability to move to a corner outfield spot. At first base, nimble and light on his feet, feel for the first base bag and soft, receptive hands. Ability to pick balls and make plays around the bag with confidence and ease. Arm clocked at 79 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.47 laser-timed 60.

Unsigned sophomore, currently ranked No. 24 in IL 2021 class. 5-foot-10, 200-pound left handed hitting/throwing first-basemen, barrel-chested and strong, present lower half strength. Started at first base and hit fifth against Glenbrook North finishing 1-for-2 with two RBI and a HBP. First at-bat was a single up the middle plating North’s first run; Second RBI was an early-in-the-AB ground out to the right side, showed a feel for the situation; 4.62 runner down the line. Athletic setup with slight crouch, short stride, minimal load, remains balanced. Quick and loose hands produces fast bat speed advanced for age, path works uphill, gap to gap approach, stayed on off speed pitches away. Natural and athletic actions on defense, moves well for size and comfortable around the bag, soft hands. Made a smart baseball play doubling off a runner trying to take third after a bunt putout at first, ball carried across with accuracy on top of the bag. High-follow 2021.

Highly-repeatable swing, stays short to the ball, natural lift in swing. Consistent hard contact, strong hands, fast bat and pull-power approach. 92 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively worked out in the outfield and at first base. In the outfield, steady actions, plays through the baseball, clean release. Long arm action, high slot and throws topped at 87 mph. At first base, natural around the bg, quick release and throws topped at 81 mph. 7.64 runner in the 60. High-follow 2021 left-handed bat.

Offensively, stands in strong, confident in the box, open setup, leg lift stride, smooth rhythm, athletic hands, natural lift, pull-side power. Advanced feel for the zone for age, disciplined at the plate. Defensively, feel around the bag, soft hands. 2021 left-handed bat to follow.
