Bradley commit, currently ranked No. 98 in the state of Illinois. Lean, long limb 6-foot-4, 197-pounds left-handed hitting southpaw. Lucas batted cleanup in both games while playing first base in the first game and right field in the second game. Balanced stance, active hands, minimal pre-pitch movement to a short stride. Strong, athletic hands, direct path to contact, flashed bat speed, gap-to-gap approach. Lucas displayed patience and the knowledge of the strike zone with three walks in the first game. Defensively, at first base, Lucas showed fluid footwork around the bag and an athletic first step off with a runner on. In the outfield, took proper routes with easy strides to the baseball.

Got a brief look at his first start of the season (coming off football) against Prairie Central. Delivery works across his body, creates deception, tough look for left-handed hitters. Arm is clean and plays out of a 3/4 slot. Fastball sat anywhere from 81-85 mph, touched 86; firmer from the stretch. Fastball plays with late arm-side-run at times, creates swings and misses, especially at the top of the zone. Looked to be throwing two different breaking balls; a 1/7 curveball at 70 mph and a tighter/sharper late breaking slider at 77 mph; potential out-pitch. Also, flashed a changeup at 73 mph. High-ceiling left-handed pitcher in the 2022 class.

Bradley commit. High upside frame, 6-foot-5, 197-pound left-handed pitcher. Delivery works slightly across his body, long arm action out of a high ¾ slot. Fastball showed arm side run, played 81-83 mph. Curveball works with 1/7 shape at 69-70 mph.

Arm Action: LH. Clean arm, has length on the backside, quick out front, high 3/4 window.
FB: T86, 83-86 mph. Late, lively action, jumps through the zone, late run.
CB: 74-83 mph. Still harnessing pitch but has taken big strides since our last look. Thrown aggressively, shape and velocity varied but showed tight spin and feel for pitch.
CH: 72-75 mph. Showed feel, late run, locates to the arm-side.

Strong, projectible build. 6-foot-5, 190-pound left-handed pitcher. 2022 grad playing against older competition. Started on the mound for Central Illinois Outlaws against STiKS Black 16U on Day One. Repeatable delivery, lands closed, works in line with target, throws across his body. Long arm action, high ¾ slot, ball comes out of his hand cleanly. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, sat between 76-78 mph with run. Curveball 61-63 mph, 1/7 shape, late action, feel for pitch. Changeup was used sparingly, played at 65-68 mph, thrown with fastball arm speed, feel for pitch. Highly projectible left-handed arm in the IL 2022 class.
