6.18.15 - Recently committed to Northwestern. 6-foot-0, 165-pound, long limbs, very projectable. On the mound displayed long arm action, high ¾ slot, lands closed, works across his body. Fastball easily sat 84-87 mph, touched 89 mph. Curveball worked on a 10/4 plane, gradual break, 71-72 mph. Changeup was thrown for strikes at 69-72 mph.
4.11.15 - Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 51 in Illinois’ 2016 class. Slight 6-foot, 155-pound frame, narrow shoulders, thin lower half. Works between high-3/4 to 3/4 slot, long arm action, athletic in-line delivery. Fastball ranged between 83-85 mph in first two innings, topping at 86 at few times, mostly straight. Velocity dropped to 80-81 in the fifth. Curveball ranged between 72-75 mph, erratic action and definition. Threw changeup infrequently – when did, left up in zone and was hit hard. Overall, threw consistent strikes. In six innings, had no walks, six strikeouts; allowed seven hits, four runs, one earned.
8/1/14 - 6-foot, 155-pound right-handed pitcher currently ranked No. 40 in Illinois' 2016 class. Christie worked scoreless innings in Team Select's first and third games. His fastball sat 82-85 mph, touching 86. He paired it with 70-73 mph curveball. He allowed one hit, with one walk, and two strike outs in his two outings.
1.19.14 - 6-foot, 145-pound lanky, athletic, two-way player who projects well on the mound. On the mound his delivery has rhythm with regular effort. Arm works long, loose, and quick from a high ¾ slot. Fastball was 80-82 mph, touching 83 mph with late run, for strikes. Curveball showed as a solid pitch with 11/5 shape and sharp, late bite at 68-70 mph. Had feel for his changeup, throwing it 67-70 mph with flashes of quality action. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance with smooth loading action and short stride, quality lower half usage, and maintains balance through contact. Swing is long and flat through the zone and quality bat speed. Exit velocity was 83 mph off the tee. From the outfield showed solid hands and clean, quick exchanges. Arm works long, from a high ¾ slot at 82 mph with accuracy and carry. Ran a 7.48 60.
