7/26/16

6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed pitcher who make the trip from Illinois to pitch at Harvard. The frame is very projectable and the arm works freely. The limbs are long and he showed the ability to repeat his delivery, not easy for longer pitchers. The delivery consists of high leg lift, and hard front side glove pull effecting his direction and extension to the plate. This guy would benefit a tremendous amount in having his front shoulder directed to the catcher at foot strike. The fastball was 76-78 mph with a small downhill plane to it. The spin pitch is slurvy, slows the ball hands down prior to getting the ball out front, sat 65-66 mph. The changeup is a work in progress, 69 mph.

2.21.16 - Extra-large frame, 6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed two-way player. Hits from a balanced setup, short quick stride. Path has some lift, power potential, flashed hard contact with some extension. 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed playable actions around first base, big target, some feel around the bag. Arm action is short and over the top, slight carry. 77 mph across the diamond. On the mound arm action is short, high ¾ slot, regular effort. Fastball has slight arm side run, showed feel for the zone, sat 76-78 mph. Breaking ball had gradual slurve type action, 64-67 mph. Changeup flashed sink, 67-69 mph.

2.22.15- 6-foot-4, 185-pound lanky right-handed hitting OF/RHP hits from balanced setup, dives with towards plate with stride, over strides at times, cuts off swing slightly, opposite field tendencies, 83 mph exit velocity off the tee, future power potential at the plate with frame. Defensively, threw 71 mph across the diamond from long, high ¾ arm slot, some accuracy.  Ran 4.75 from home to first. On the mound, fastball sat 72-74 mph from long, high ¾ arm slot, level shoulders throughout delivery, stride direction works across his body, lands square towards home plate at foot strike. Curveball showed gradual break, 11/5 shape, 60-64 mph, inconsistent for strikes. 64-67 mph changeup missed down in the zone.
