Landwehr leaves Prospect having broken nearly every school pitching record, including all-time wins (26-5) and career strikeouts (240). He also single-handedly carried the Knights to their first state finish as a junior.A two-time Prep Baseball Report first-team All-State selection, Landwehr was perhaps even more dominant than he was as a junior, but didn’t have the same results. In 70.2 innings, the right-hander struck out 100 and walked 11. He held a 0.59 ERA and limited opponents to 40 hits. His record, however, didn’t reflect his dominance. He finished with a 7-3 mark; two of those losses were of the 1-0 variety, both times the runs were unearned. Landwehr is also a top-level defensive third baseman who batted .417 with nine doubles and 21 RBI. As a junior, the Illinois State recruit broke the school’s single-season record for wins when he went 14-2 while leading the Knights to a third-place finish. He struck out 114 and walked only 11 in 85.1 innings.
Earned PBR first-team All-State honors as a junior after he posted a 14-2 record with a 2.38 ERA and 114 Ks to 11 walks in 85.1 innings. At the plate, he batted .443 with 14 doubles, 3 homers and 45 RBI while leading Prospect to a third-place finish in Class 4A. ... The 6-foot, 195-pound Landwehr is one of the state's best two-way talents. In the spring, Landwehr earned PBR first-team All-State honors after going 14-2. Landwehr commands three pitches for strikes, all with good movement. His fastball registered at 84-86 mph, and he has been as high as 89 during the spring. His fastball has heavy sink and run, as does his 74-75 mph changeup, which looks to be a good swing-and-miss pitch. Landwehr's 70-74 mph curveball is also a solid pitch, as he keeps it down in the zone and commands it for strikes. As a position player, Landwehr is a top-level defensive third baseman. He demonstrated plus hands and concise lateral movements while throwing strikes across the infield. At the plate, he has a balanced setup and a quick path to the baseball. Landwehr barreled balls to all fields with good backspin carry. ... All-around impact player: 5-0, 0.92 ERA; .361, 8 doubles.
