Body: 6-3, 180-pounds. Lean, projectable frame. Athletic with room to fill out.
Hit: LHH. Narrow, balanced setup, coiled load. Quick hands, stays on top of the baseball, works through the zone, gap-to-gap approach.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 84.7 mph. 315’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 80 mph. Live arm, works with short action into a 3/4 slot. Throws play with life.
Defense: Steady footwork, moves well to each side. Soft hands, fluid exchange. Flashed feel for the bag.
Run: 7.30 runner in the 60. 

Delivery: Rocker step, high leg kick, drop and drive lower half.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T87, 85-86 mph. Life out of the hand and through the zone.  T2203, 2113 average rpm.
CB: 69-72 mph. 11/5 shape with depth.  T2085, 1986 average rpm.
CH: 75-78 mph. Drops slot at times, heavy fade under the zone with a loose arm.  T1823, 1609 average rpm.

RHP Jake Shumaker (Lyons Township) was yet another member of the 2024 class that looked to have promise on the mound. With a long-limbed 6-foot-2, 150-pound frame, Shumaker has plenty of room to add additional strength that should help continue to elevate his fastball velocity, especially paired with his clean arm. His delivery works with a fluid pace, using a pre-load in his lower-half to gain momentum down the mound. His fastball reached up to 82 mph, sitting primarily 79-80 mph with heavy arm-side life. Schumaker went to a sharp 11/5 breaking ball at 65-66 mph to pair off his fastball, thrown for strikes with feel for the zone. He then went to a cutter in the 69-70 range, acting more like a slider with tight 10/4 shape, but still a solid change-of-pace offering that should continue to improve with added arm-speed. He rounded out his arsenal with a 69-71 mph changeup, flashing arm-side life at times.

Delivery: Tall and fall delivery. Works on line. Lands front toe closed.
Arm Action: RH. Compact arm action. Short draw out of glove. High 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T80.3, 78.6-80.0 mph. Natural running action. T2044, 1994 average rpm.
CB: 64.9-66.4 mph. 11/5 shape. Slurve type action. Able to locate for strikes and expand off the plate as an out pitch. T1804, 1713 average rpm.
CH: 68.7-70.7 mph. Hard running action. T1532, 1471 average rpm.
CUT: 69-70 mph. Short, late horizontal action.
