2.16.14 Strong lower half, broad shoulder, 6-foot-1, 200-pound right handed pitcher. Delivery works on line down the hill. Live arm, high ¾ slot, loose arm action, some effort. Fastball has run, heavy feel, lively action through the zone, 87-88 mph, 83-84 mph from the stretch. Splitter has downward action, showed well above average feel for the pitch, tumbling action, 63-66 mph. Changeup has excellent action, flash sink and run to his arm side, 70-71 mph, drops arm slot.

1/20/13 - Physical, athletically built 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect. Has strong legs and barrel chest. Showed impressively athletic feet with quick transfer behind the plate. Throws were on-line with carry, with top pop times of 2.00, 2.02 and 2.07. Clocked at 76 mph from the crouch. Needs to improve receiving skills. Has an aggressive approach at the plate. Generates bat speed and barrel whip through zone from aggressive lower half. Showed some pull side power potential when mechanics are aligned. On the mound, fastball sat at 81-83 mph, topping at 84, with little movement. Secondary stuff is work in progress. Located changeup in 63-64 mph range.
McKinney is a physically advanced 6-foot, 200-pound two-way player. At the plate, McKinney showed some rhythm and power potential in his swing. Defensively, McKinney had pop times ranging from 2.14– 2.22 and was clocked at 75 mph. On the mound McKinney has a short back arm action and had four different pitches, a FB (73-77 mph), CB (52-55 mph), CH (63-65 mph), and a Split (57-58 mph).
1/22/12 McKinney is a physically advanced 6-foot, 200-pound two-way player who showed well behind the plate, posting a best pop time of 2.11 and throwing 75 mph from the crouch.  At the plate, McKinney has an open setup and some good bat speed through the zone. McKinney demonstrated some pull-side power potential, as the ball jumped off his bat with authority at times.  On the mound, McKinney has three pitches: a 77-78 mph fastball, a 57-62 mph curveball, and a62-66 mph changeup.
