LHP Jason Gumiela (St. Patrick, 2025) catches the eye immediately thanks to his 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame, and he put together one of the more impressive ‘pens on the day. The southpaw has a simple delivery into a high front side, working into a tall balance point before moving into a slightly closed landing. He has a long draw out of the glove into a short, over-the-top release. Gumiela worked his fastball in the 84-85 mph range, playing with some vertical carry and life through the zone. He showed developing feel in his 1/7 curveball, but there’s big-breaking depth, 69-71 mph. His final offering was a firm changeup with developing feel, 76-79 mph.
