Uncommitted. Lean, long legged, 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, right-handed pitcher got the start and batted leadoff for Sandburg. On the mound, Sullivan worked four innings with three earned runs on seven hits and struck out five with two coming in the first inning. A simple delivery working directionally in line with home, stays connected throughout the motion and finishes in a square and athletic position. Early in the game, the fastball played straight with some life to through the zone, sat 86-88 mph and topped at 89 mph before falling to 83-85 mph towards the end. Sullivan used a slider off the fastball, 10/4 movement with sharpness at times sitting 69-71 mph. A changeup was the third pitch with similar movement to the fastball sitting 74-75 mph. At the plate, Sullivan went 3-4 with a home run to lead off the game. A wide, simple setup with a toe tap trigger, compact swing and controls the barrel. Sullivan was a standout at our Unsigned Senior event back in February.

OF/RHP Jason Sullivan (Sandburg) got Sunday’s event started with a bang as he put together one of the day's top ‘pens. Out of methodical and directional delivery, Sullivan ran his fastball up to 86.8 mph with late life through the zone with occasional cutting action. He also was able to spin in two different breaking balls, the first being a sweeping slider and the second a more traditional 11/5 curveball that he was able to throw down in the zone. He rounded out his four-pitch mix with a changeup that he sold well, and featured some late run/depth in the zone. Offensively, Sullivan works from a wide setup and utilizes quick hands to create exit velocities up to 96.3 mph.

Built athletically at 5-foot-10, 150-pounds, Sullivan has plenty of room to add on strength in the coming years. The right-hander boasted the highest fastball velocity in the entire event, working in the 84-86 mph range throughout his ‘pen and playing with running action to his arm-side.
