6/23/15 - Malisheski is one of the fastest-rising prospects in Illinois’ 2016 class. After turning in one of the top overall performances at the Illinois Top Prospect Showcase, he delivered similarly impressive results the following week at the ProCase. At 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, Malisheski has a lively athletic frame with plenty of room for continued physical development. His arm works free and easily from a high-3/4 slot, and everything from his delivery to his arm swing and through his finish is athletic. Malisheski has feel for three pitches, headlined by his 87-89 mph fastball with arm-side life. His curveball shows promise as well, ranging from 71-73 mph with 11/5 shape. Though he didn’t throw it consistently for strikes, the pitch is sharp and has quality depth. With his size, frame and athleticism, it looks as though Malisheski will continue to add strength and velocity in the coming years. Malisheski is currently uncommitted.
6/18/15 - Recently committed to Illinois State. Typical pitchers frame, 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, lean, loose and athletic, right-handed pitcher. Clean and easy on the mound, shows little effort, long loose arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball has arm side run, flashes hard action, sat 87-88 mph, touched 89 mph. Curveball showed lateral action, 70-72 mph. Changeup thrown near fastball arm speed, 78-80 mph. Highly projectable arm has continually improved every time we’ve seen him in the last six months. Possible draft follow.
5/12/15 - 6-foot-3, 190-pound, right-handed pitcher with a lanky build and room to fill. Currently ranked No. 58 in the Illinois Class of 2016. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, quick, easy arm action. Tall and fall online delivery with good tempo, and extension out front. Deceptive fastball gets on hitters inducing many swing and misses. Fastball sat 85-86 mph for most of the outing. 82-84 mph in the 7th. Curveball sat 67-70 mph. Drops down arm slot on CB with Frisbee action. Showed the ability to throw CB for strikes. Only threw a couple of changeups in game with slight armside action at 76 mph. Dominated against Lakes 7 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 11 K’s.
2/22/15- 6-foot-3, 190-pound, right-handed pitcher. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a quick arm, and a short, loose arm action, comes out clean. Toe up balance point with easy effort. Tall and fall online delivery with smooth rhythm and level shoulders. Low hands thru delivery with a closed landing and an athletic finish. Fastball sat 85-86 mph. Threw curveball for strikes with 10-4 shape and late action sitting 70-72 mph. Maintained armspeed on changeup with fade at 79-81 mph. Good projectability.
