RHP Korbin Woerly (Canton, 2024) made for a good look during his PBR event debut on Wednesday. Standing at 5-foot-8, 160-pounds, Woerly ran his fastball up to 85.2 mph but what was the most interesting thing about this pitch was the amount of run that it possessed, roughly 19’ of horizontal movement on average. As for his offspeeds, he featured a tightly spun slider that he was able to throw for strikes, and a somewhat developing changeup that flashed late fade and depth. Also, ran a 7.24 60 and flashed some twitchy hands at the plate.
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-8, 160-pounds. High waisted. Some thickness in legs. Long arms.
Hit: RHH. Balanced quiet setup, toe-tap stride. Simple swing, quick-twitch hands, creates bat speed, short to the ball, middle of the field approach.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 82.1 mph. 284’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 79 mph. Can play on the move, 3/4 slot.
Defense: Quick feet, two-hand gather out front, ranges well to both sides, clean transfer.
Run: 7.24 runner in the 60.
Delivery: High leg lift into tall and fall delivery. Slightly closed stride, some deception.
Arm Action: RH. Long out of the glove into a 3/4 slot.
FB: T85, 83-85 mph. Flashed above-average run through the zone. T2210, 2126 average rpm.
SL: 70-71 mph. Tight spin. Feel for the zone. T2198, 2134 average rpm.
CH: 69-70 mph. Some feel. Slows delivery slightly. Flashed fade and depth. T1727, 1619 average rpm.
