Hendrix commit. Athletic and lean 5-foot-11, 153-pound frame with room for added strength. Pitched four innings of one run ball for the Griffins, allowing three hits, no walks, two HBPs and punching out one batter. Worked out of a high-tempo delivery and threw out of a higher ¾ arm slot with loose arm action. Fastball sat in the low-80s featuring some arm-side run. Also worked a low-70s curveball with 10/4 action and sweep. Also went 1-for-3 at the plate, picking up two RBI in the process in the win over Pawnee.

Hendrix commit. Lean 5-foot-11, 153-pound frame with room to add strength. Started in left field and hit out of the six-hole. Holmes showed well on Wednesday as he went 2-for-3 at the plate. The right-hander operates from a wide base with a small foot lift. Twitchy pre-pitch movement with loose, fluid hands. A long swing that has an uphill bat path. Connected on a single in each of his first two plate appearances. Showed off his whole field approach in his third plate appearance with a line drive to the right fielder. Showed a strong arm during I/O.

The Hendrix commit had an impressive week at the plate and on the mound. Offensively, Holmes went 9-for-14 with three walks, a double, six RBIs, five runs, and a stolen base. On the mound he started in No. 15 Father McGivney’s 6-2 win in tough conditions over conference opponent Christ Our Rock tossing four innings allowing two runs, three hits two walks and struck out one.
