6/14/12 Kowalczuk is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound first baseman who looks to be one of the premier right-handed bats in the Class of 2013. Kowalczuk starts from an open stance and generates impressive whip through the zone.  Kowalczuk showed plus power from the right side, consistently barreling up the baseball to both power alleys. Defensively, Kowalczuk exhibited soft hands and good feet around the bag. He displayed an accurate arm (79 mph) across the diamond as well. Additionally, Kowalczuk ran a 7.42 60.

2/19/12 Kowalczuk is a physically impressive 6-foot-3, 210-pound first baseman who impressed with his offensive prowess and athleticism. At the plate, the right-handed hitting Kowalczuk has a open setup and an explosive lower half with good barrel whip through the zone. He has a balanced and advanced plate approach; he has an easy yet explosive swing, and generates considerable power from his lower half.  The ball jumps off his bat with backspin carry to all fields. Defensively, Kowalczuk is an athletic first baseman with good footwork and soft hands around the bag. He showed advanced feel for the position.  Additionally, Kowalczuk showed his athleticism by running a 7.14 60.

Big-bodied right-hander is mid-80s on the mound and wields a powerful bat at the plate.
