Micklinghoff

Uncommitted. Stands in at a well-proportioned 6-foot, 180-pounds, and had a solid showing with the bat for the Warriors. Batting out of the cleanup spot, Micklinghoff went 1-for-3, with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base. The right-handed hitter showed an aggressive approach, hunting fastballs early in counts. He sets up with a crouched, balanced setup, with his hands loading back with the rest of his body onto his backside. His swing works slightly uphill while staying in the zone for a long time. Micklinghoff is an uncommitted middle of the order bat to follow the rest of the spring.

FB: T78, 75-76 mph. Above-average carry through the zone, at an average of 15.6 inches of Induced Vertical Break; also features steady arm-side run.
CB: 60-62 mph. 11/5 shape, breaks early, but shows a feel to spin.

Hit: RHH. Narrow, tall setup, low handset and short stride. Long bat path, uphill through the zone with intent to lift the baseball.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity from the tee. 83.96 max exit velocity during BP, via TrackMan.

Defensively, throws from high ¾ slot, long arm action, 65 mph down to second base. Showed fluid footwork with clean exchange. Pop times ranged between 2.68-2.76. On the mound, also worked from high ¾ slot, long arm action. Finished linear towards the plate, closed landing. Fastball sat between 64-69 mph. Curveball showed 10/4 break, ranging between 52-54 mph. Changeup sat between 57-59 mph.
