5/11/13 - Physically advanced 6-foot-4, 215-pound athlete. Signed at the University of Illinois. Also standout basketball player on state-ranked team. For his size, runs exceptionally well; plays hard. In Game 2, he went 2-for-2 with a three-run homer, scored four runs and was walked twice. In the first game, the right-hander improved to 5-1 by gutting out a complete-game victory.  McInerney yielded five hits – none in the final three innings – walked seven and struck out three. He started the game pitching 79-82 with his fastball, and finished the seventh working 84-86, topping at 88. He also had two RBI, including a run-scoring double and a bases-loaded walk.  

Two-way talent will be needed to produce on mound for Redwings.
