Kentucky commit, and the current No. 6 prospect in Illinois, took the ball on Saturday for the Cangelosi Sparks and did what we have become accustomed to seeing. The athletically-built, 6-foot-3, 170-pound, left-hander, works with easy effort, throws a high-volume of strikes, commands the fastball to both sides of the plate and showed a repertoire that should play as a starter at the next level. Gannon sat 86-88 mph, touched 89 and mixed in a breaking ball at 72-73 mph with feel for the zone. One of the more polished arms in the 2021 class.

+ One of the top uncommitted 2021s in Illinois, LHP Reed Gannon (Minooka HS, IL) came out of the bullpen for Cangelosi Sparks in the Championship game and showed similar stuff to what we have become accustomed to seeing. Gannon has a clean, easy arm and creates a tough look due to working across his body. His fastball sat anywhere from 83-87 mph and he went to a hard, late, 76-79 mph slider that comes out of the same window as his fastball. 

2019 Future Games: 6-foot-3, 170-pound, highly-athletic, projectable left-handed pitcher with plenty of room for continued physical development. Was one of the biggest buzz names from Illinois heading into the event and did nothing but elevate his stock with his performance. Put together the cleanest two-inning outing of any arm in Illinois. Worked two perfect innings, striking out three and made it look easy. Clean, easy delivery, works across his body, lands closed, minimal head movement throughout and creates deception. Arm works clean, loose and quick from a ¾ slot; looks to have plenty more velocity in the tank. Fastball, commanded the bottom of the zone, both sides of the plate but mostly to the glove side. Fastball, late run, plays up, sat 85-87 mph. Mixed in a curveball at 74-75 mph and a slider at 75-77 mph. Slider is a short wrinkle, late 2/8 action, feel. Also showed feel for a changeup at 75 mph. True starter profile with high-ceiling, pitchability and plenty more in the tank.

2.19.18 - 6-foot-1, 150-pound, athletic-build, lanky, two-way prospect. On the mound, projectable left handed pitcher, tall and fall type, good balance point, directionally in line, slightly closed landing, athletic finish, smooth rhythm throughout. Long, clean, loose arm action, quick arm speed, easy effort, finishes out front with a high ¾ slot. Fastball showed run, arm side, sat 75-76 mph. Curveball, 1/7 in shape, ranged 62-66 mph. Changeup had arm side run, in the zone, 66-69 mph. Slider, 2/8 shape, good arm speed, feel, 64-67 mph. At the plate, tall, open setup, leg kick trigger, rhythm throughout. Level path, compact swing, 78 mph exit velocity off tee. In the outfield, clean exchange, short arm action, high ¾ slot, throws topped 76 mph. Ran a 7.67 laser timed 60.

2017 Junior Future Games - Athletic left-handed pitcher. On the mound, clean arm action, ¾ slot. Sets up third base side of mound, lands first base side. Fastball, run action, 71-74 mph. Slider, 2/8 shape, has feel for, 63-65 mph. Pitched two innings, struck out all six batters faced.
