2.17.14 - 6-foot, 180-pound right handed pitcher, solid build. Delivery has some rhythm, occasional effort. Arm works quickly, high ¾ slot, long loose arm action. Fastball is mostly straight, late heavy feel, finishes through the zone well, 86-88 mph. Flashed a two seam fastball with occasional arm side action at 86-88. Curveball works on 11/5 plane, flashed late action, 70-73 mph, better action when thrown harder, showed feel for the zone, advanced pitch. Changeup thrown with fastball similar arm action, showed feel for the pitch at the bottom of the zone, 75-78 mph. Hodgett has a strong arm and the secondary stuff to go with it, a high follow at the next level.

10/27/13 - Strong build, solid frame, 6-foot, 165-pound right handed pitcher. Arguably the top prospect at the event, high follow pitcher with advanced arm strength. Delivery shows some effort, slight drop and drive style, athletic finish. Arm action is long, high ¾ slot, advanced arm speed. Showcased a four seam and two seam fastball, sat 84-86 mph, two seam touched 87 mph, four seam touched 88 mph, plus potential fastball. Two seamer flashed advanced action, hard arm side run, showed the ability to command both fastballs. Curveball has advanced action, 11/5 plane, sharp bite, throws with conviction, fastball arm speed, displayed feel and control, 71-74 mph. Straight changeup has feel, 75-77 mph flashing occasional action. Splitter had occasional downward action, 74-76 mph, erratic action, some feel. Hodgett is one of the top arms in his class and has high level potential.
