4.30.18 - Arkansas commit, currently ranked No. 7 in the Illinois’ 2018 class. 6-foot-7, 240-pound, extra-large, well-proportioned, left-handed pitcher. Showed noticeable improvements from the last time we saw him in Week 4. Vastly improved command of all pitches and curveball flashed swing-and-miss action. Creates massive tilt to his fastball, pitched at the knees or below to start the game. Fastball worked straight, extreme downward angle, sat 87-88 mph, touched 90 once. Curveball was virtually unhittable on this day. Came out of same window and slot as fastball; aggressive arm speed, looks like fastball out of the hand, late, sharp break, 1/7 shape, occasional 12/6 downer action, threw it for strikes early in count and expanded with two strikes, 72-77 mph. Flashed a couple of sliders at 78-79 mph; short break, horizontal action, 78-79 mph. Did not see a changeup in game. Final line: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 12 K, 3 BB.
4.10.18 - Arkansas commit, currently ranked No. 7 in the Illinois’ 2018 class. 6-foot-7, 240-pound, extra-large, well-proportioned, extra-large left-handed pitcher; imposing figure on the mound. Started on the mound for Mundelein, went four innings, gave up one hit, no runs, struck out seven and walked two. Tall and fall delivery, works with rhythm, stays on-line, lands front-foot closed and finishes upright. Arm works short and over-the-top, quick out front. Ability to create extreme angle on his fastball at times. Fastball works mostly straight, occasional cut action, sat 86-87 mph in the first inning and settled in at 83-86 mph. Curveball, inconsistent shape and action; true 1/7 shape and depth when at its best, sat 73-75 mph. Flashed one slider up in the zone at 78 mph. Did not see a changeup in game.
2.19.17  - Arkansas commit. 6-foot-7, 240-pound left-handed pitcher. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, loose arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a closed landing. Fastball sat 85-86 topping out at 87 mph with downhill angle. Curveball has 1-7 shape with depth at 70-72 mph with occasional sharp action. Changeup has sinking action at 71-76 mph.

Future Games 2016 - At 6-foot-8, 230 pounds, Sanchez is a monster on the mound. With his length and size, the big question surrounding Sanchez was could he throw consistent strikes? On back-to-back one-inning outings, he filled up the strike zone, both with his fastball and curveball, working two clean innings. On Friday, his fastball sat 86-87 coming from a steep angle with slight arm-side run. He struck out one, walked one and induced two weak groundouts. The following day, Sanchez worked 84-86 from the same steep angle; however, his fastball had more arm-side finish to it. More impressively, he spun several quality breaking balls at 70-71 mph, one which resulted in a strikeout, his second punchout of the inning. With a few mechanical tweaks, such as getting down the mound more and keeping his front side closed, Sanchez could very well just be scratching the surface of his ascension, as his velocity has jumped 4-7 mph since we last saw him in early June. He committed to Arkansas shortly after the Future Games.

1.17.16 - Extra-large frame 6-foot-7, 220-pound well-proportioned and projectable left-handed hitting outfielder. One of the top two-way players in the 2018 class. At the event he only worked out as a position player. Offensively, compact, simple swing with excellent balance throughout his swing. Present bat speed, natural lift in swing and extension through contact. Fluid rhythm, gap-to-gap approach with occasional pull power. Balanced, wide setup, smooth pre-pitch load and short stride. Registered an exit velocity of 84 mph. Defensively, in the outfield, moves well, with body control, given his imposing frame. Reliable hands, plays through the baseball and a clean exchange. Long and loose arm action, high ¾ slot and throws were clocked at 84 mph. Also, ran an 8.01 laser-timed 60.
10.25.15 - Massive bodied 6-foot-7, 217-pound left-handed pitcher and left-handed hitting outfielder. On the mound, quick, clean, loose and long arm action. Smooth rhythm, high ¾ slot, tall and fall delivery. Short stride and tendency to finish upright. Fastball sat 81-82 mph. Featured a knuckle curveball, worked 12/6, sharp action, depth and sat 67-68 mph. Changeup flashed some arm-side-run and ranged between 70-73 mph. Given his extra-large frame and clean, loose arm action, his velocity should continue to climb as he gets more in sync with his body and matures. Offensively, athletic setup in the box. Simple, compact swing with present strength through contact. Fast bat speed, short path through the hitting zone and fluid rhythm and good balance throughout. Registered an exit velocity of 84 mph. Defensively, decent feet for his body type and size in the outfield. Plays through the baseball with a clean exchange. Long, loose arm action, high ¾ slot, some accuracy and carry clocked at 80 mph. Also, ran a 7.82 laser-timed 60.
