The 6-foot, 180-pound, athletic-framed first baseman was a standout performer Saturday. The L/L first baseman went 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI out of the three-hole for Game Seven. Thompson displayed a smooth, easy stroke that stays on the barrel and induces power. A bat to follow the rest of the weekend.
OF Trey Thompson (Bloomington, 2024) is a left/left uncommitted prospect with athleticism and sneaky twitch to his game. Thompson’s most impressive moment of the event was when he got the head out and lined a home run over the right-field wall that left the premises in a hurry and got no more than 15 feet off the ground.
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 5-11, 165-pounds. Wiry, athletic frame.
Delivery: Medium side step into a high stride, coils into balance point before moving with a tall/fall lower-half down the mound, stride works in-line with the plate and shoulders work uphill before release. In-game stats: 2 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 2 K
Arm Action: LH. Long out of the glove into an over-the-top slot.
FB: T82.6, 80-82 mph. Some control over the zone, plays with tilt. T1876, 1763 average rpm.

Athletic hands, smooth, repeatable swing, spray-type hitter to all fields. Picked up two hits on the day, both coming in the second game. Drove in two runs as well.
